From a PR perspective, I don't think organizing anything in concert/protest/picket/whatever with a candlelight vigil is a good thing. I think we can truly do nothing and nobody will even know that Brady 'organized' this event.

They are irrelevant. But doing anything on top of a candle-light vigil will make us look bad and certainly make them relevant to people who are misguidedly associating the Brady Campaign with Compassion.

Yep, the feature "As seen on" means where a particular YT hot-link outside of YT generates the most traffic from.
So in fact, as mentioned in another post, that most of those views on the vid are from Calgunners.

We show up at their vigils, but with our signs. Of course our signs would have to be different.

If we have vigils, we need to get together as a coordinated team.

What I propose is we shift the debate to the causes of gun violence.

Signs like the following:

Prohibition kills, end the Drug War.
Stop ATF giving guns to Cartels.
Real Hope, Real Change, Ron Paul 2012
Gun Safety Yes, Victim Disarmanent No, VD kills.

This just proves that your average gun owner is infinitely more careful when using their toys than your average driver. Gun related incidents are generally deliberate, not accidents as in the automotive world.

Edit: You can make numbers say just about anything.....let's not talk just about the guns, I wonder how many hundreds of millions or rounds of ammunition are expended each year (I try to do my part)?? Each round has the capability of causing damage. If you factor that in, it could be argued that guns are one of the safest things in America.

I have had someone "roll" a right hand turn on red mere yards in front of me while I was driving down a 55mph road on a nearly daily basis. I have been almost hit on a daily basis by people talking on cell phones or applying makeup while driving.

Strangely, I've never even been "swept" by a carelessly pointed muzzle at a gun range, nor have I ever almost been shot by someone jumping the next session.

I'd tend to agree that legitimate gun owners for the most part exercise more care than the average "legitimate" motor vehicle operator.

I have said it before and ill say it again, If any of my family members or I end up being shot, or in a confrentation with a gunmen, I will go to whatever lawyer will take my case and sue the hell out of the state of CA, I'll sign the dotted line and let the lawyer get every penny in compensation. But I SHOULD NOT FEEL UNSAFE walking around because I cannot protect my family and loved ones out side of my damn home...

Our feelings are irrelevant. I have an LTC, and have been in situations where I have not felt safe. I was however PREPARED TO DEFEND MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.
