Hey, I like that. I should bust out my 30 Carbine Blackhawk and AR pistol that day. Both of those are quite the flame throwers as well.

Question. If you go to the video on U-tube, comments and rating have been disabled, there is a little picture of an eyeball and its says, "As seen on Calguns.net, 2nd Amend. Related legal etc......"

Does that mean what I think it means?

If so, the majority of people watching that video are from here, and any brady believers are going to to have to deal with a line link right to this thread.......

              So here you go.

I believe they're using CDC statistics, which aren't as accurate as the FBI UCR statistics, which exclude justifiable homicide by civilians and justifiable homicides by law enforcement.

For those who think suicides are included are wrong, if they included firearms suicides, the number of gun deaths each year would jump to around 25,000-30,000

Justifiable firearms homicides by private citizens number around 200 each year, and by law enforcement around 300 each year. Yes, there are a few, but not "a majority" like someone had suggested in another thread.

According to the FBI, firearms homicides that were not "justifiable" in 2010 numbered 9,000 something. And that number was following a downward trend spanning several years, that according to the 2011 FBI preliminary crime report, is still falling this year.

The number is inflated, but not an insane amount like some are suggesting. And yes, I believe many of them are criminals killing other criminals.
So let's do some simple math. Permits approved for LTC in CA are approximately .005% (rough random number, I recall for my county alone it's somewhere around there and the statewide number was only marginally better). If there are roughly 500 (200 citizen + 300 LE) justifiable instances of firearms being used to kill in self defense or defense of another, that means firearms are roughly 900% more likely to do good than bad (put simply). 500/11500 (4.3%) (or 500/9500, 5.3%). And that's just comparing the overall numbers of violence to the permit holders in this state, let alone the other 49.

How about just showing up at their "vigils"

We show up at their vigils, but with our signs. Of course our signs would have to be different.

If we have vigils, we need to get together as a coordinated team.

What I propose is we shift the debate to the causes of gun violence.

                          Signs like the following:

Prohibition kills, end the Drug War.
Stop ATF giving guns to Cartels.

Here is there link, let's consider a fire team.

                            Guys,

This event is Jan 8th, that is a Sunday, so most of us are not working and I know that many of us have lives. That being said we are all over the state, the question is how many of us would be willing to step up on this one.

After all, we care about victims too, more important, we care about cutting down the number of future victims.

Some of you are going ot say, why bother, we aren't going to change their minds and you know what, that is probably true.

What we will do however is demoralize them by forcing them to face the truth. This action will require unconventional tactics on our part, we have to be creative and we can do it.

Brady is uniting Americans against gun violence. We invite everyone who wants to end our epidemic of gun violence to take action, not sides.

I think the best way to respond is not to respond. Let the thing atrophy and die. I say make jan 8 a big "take a friend to the range" day
