We should all still carry Pistol Holsters just so we can screw with the heads of these liberal fascist Kommifornians and LEO's that agree with the new law and think that this is a game where they are the only ones to be able to posses handguns strapped to their hips. I bet we can get at least one incident where paranoid Libs/Leos arrest a person for not being able to find a gun and "endangering the public by a blatant display of a holster to intimidate and rustle the feathers of people, thinking that we were going to go away!" Who lives close to Sac and is willing to walk into the gov office strapping a Holsters to your hips? They would pee in their pants asking dumbfounded " Why didn't the law work, they are still here?" Don't you agree?
I would prefer to do it quietly and without fuss.Comment

Let's see. . . Assuming your theory were correct, the lower court ruling would be mooted and the amended AB962 would now be in force. That means that all the ammo bans would be in effect and we'd have to start again on the FAAAA case. While that case is likely to work, we don't have standing until after or rights have been violated.
This is much better. The ammo ban may not be completely dead, but it is on life support and last rites are being administered.
Again, Brown is smart/savvy enough to know what is currently in play ant to know how his treatment of all of the bills in question here will play in current/future litigation to settle these issues once and for all.Comment

Thats what I was trying to explain to him, and that he needed to have it in a holster. He was adamant that he was correct and it was within his legal right to open carry the gun in his hand.Comment

I think the author of AB610 was a Democrat?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is correct. And I think that Reagan and Ahnold signed some of the worst anti-RKBA legislation in California history.
I understand the feeling, because most Democrat politicians are the enemies of the RKBA and most Republicans are at least semi-friendly. But there are important exceptions which should be recognized.
Make no mistake, last night was a disaster and a Democrat Governor was responsible. Could just as easily been Meg or Arnold though. Or even the Gipper. It ain't the player, it's the game...er, the system.
To really put it into perspective though, yeah we took a big step back. And we have the potential to now take two steps forward. Maybe. In the next few years, or ten, or twenty. NOT in the next two weeks. We also have the potential to stay a step back and lose even more ground in the short and long term.
It's as if things just got elevated a level and the stakes got higher...because they did. We're in this to win, and so is the enemy. Don't underestimate them, they still control the legislature and they are using it to their advantage.
We've grown complacent with our recent court wins and it shows. We're not used to losing, it hurts and we need to acknowledge that. Let's accept that fact, and learn from this loss. Let's move on and let's learn to fight them on more fronts. The courts are clearly not enough.Comment

Since we're no longer waiting, and there are ample other threads discussing the bills, the reactions, the politicians and whatever else is roiling the waters, this one is closed.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
