    2017??

You can't register a rifle purchased in 2017. And if I recall that includes a lower receiver.

People are afraid to remove barrel extensions because of this logic.. ok fine..

Well if BBAW are a different class of AW, then none of the AW restrictions should apply to BBAW because they are technically different classification and not applicable...

For example... BBAW can be transported regularly, they can be lenses differently etc...

DOJ can have it one way or another, they can't take all the bad limitation on an AW and say they apply to BBAW but not any of the benifits.
You remind me of myself the last time I was on jury duty using logical arguments to convince a bunch of retired educators they had to follow the law and the jury instructions to come to a verdict. What an absolute waste of time. Thank heavens they were only about half the jury

To the point, they think they can have it both ways, and the 9th circuit tells them so.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

(Among many other rifled I purchased Prior to 2017) I have a lower I purchased in 2017, but I've had the upper forever. I'm wondering how they will know when I purchased the lower?

          Wouldn't the DROS reveal that?

Thought anything purchased after 2014 is auto registered no matter what it is.

But not registered as an AW. I thought glock_nor_cal was referring to registering as an Assault Weapon.

It makes no difference. As long as you choose interchangeable barrel, you are free to change the upper to whatever you choose.

Since there doesn't seem to be anyone who makes extended X95 buttplate, I was thinking of getting a block of rubber and attaching it on top of existing buttplate somehow.

                        Dude stop.

If the lower was purchased in 2017, you can't register it as an AW.

How will they know when you got it?

                        1. You have to tell them when you acquired it on the form and agree that the information is accurate.

                        2. You're uploading pictures of the thing. They can see the serial number. Since it was purchased after 2014, they can easily lookup when it was DROSd.

I'd suggest people not play around with this stuff. Just be straight up and honest. This is not something you want to be playing games with as you're dealing with legally binding govt stuff.

Pull out your receipts? That's what I did. I was surprised to see how long ago I bought some of this stuff.

With that said, I know there is no requirement to keep receipts and stuff, so that's not really an answer for people that don't have paper records to refer to for the information

                            To be crystal clear...

What about barrel length changes? Barrel length is asked for during registration.

Nothing in the reg process, or any of the questions, locks you into anything other than the keeping of the BB on forever. It might be nice to think that entering multi as a caliber and then adding interchangeable barrels is some kind of green light to reconfigure, but the fact is you can reconfigure anything as long as the BB stays on. Sure, enter multi and interchangeable barrels for fun, but they have no power to lock us into configurations using this information.

There is no law, no PC, and not even any regulations that say otherwise.
