I went out 4-5 times this season and only saw 1 covy of about 10 birds. Only shot the 1 bird, hoping next season will be better if we keep getting rain.

Not nearly so spectacular, but took a new dog out to see what he learned in school.

Nice one! I Just got back from Fort Hunter Liggett in Monterey county hunting pig, but no luck. One day I'll get one.

Last year while salmon fishing the American River in Rancho Cordova this buck forded the river right in front of me, just as the sun was coming up. Middle of deer season too. Needless to say I went home that day empty handed, but thoroughly enjoyed one of those moments when something unexpected happens in the outdoors that you'll always remember.

Does this count? Haha. Squirrels are starting to come out, saw four yesterday. This is the only one that got hit, other three got away.

Here's a couple of highlights from last season.
First is a nice little striper from the Forebay, the second is a pig from NorCal, Killed weight 140lbs, nice little eater. The third is a mess of Duck and Speck from last season, taken at The White Mallard

First catfish for me. Heavy sucker compared to a similar length trout. Caught in a cove on Don Pedro near the Flemming area boat launch on power bait. Didn't even realize my bait line had been hit, I just looked over an thought, "aw dangit, my rod blew over....wait! fish!"

Had a good few egg sacs (to be fried with tomorrow's eggs for breakfast) and should make good nuggets for dinner tonight.
