This CRK Green Beret came in today's mail. Knife owner didn't have the box and paper work. No problem because the knife is in awesome condition.

Nice shape and handles. What steel do they use?

Looks like CPM S35VN. RC 55-57. The sheath is the older Blackhawk.

Thanks. Same Claudio, the blade is marked CAS. It is incredible, so much so that I don't really want to use it. Fit and finish are excellent, the balance is just forward of the handle. Originally I wanted a stainless bolster, but I decided this handle style was more congruent with the overall form. I actually bought it with the intent of using it, but haven't been able to as of yet.

You could use it to see what it can do, but to each his own. I have plenty that are brand new. The Malanika 6.5" hasn't cut much. I have indestructible Scrap Yards in a few sizes that are convexed and coatings stripped SR77 and SR101 for using plus really capable and really replaceable "beaters" like RTAKII, KABAR Beckers, etc... Gonna strip my BK15, SYKCO 511, and a Trash next.

Scratching up an ugly utilitarian blade is painless, hahah. I guess that's why I like the SYKCO's. Unlikely that I would ever own a $1300 blade like the CAS on the Exchange, but I'd always use the $150 SYKCO (or the folder in my pocket) first, hahah.

Anyone check out the Busse WTF?? War Train Fusion Bowies. Those are pretty over the top. The Battle grade is $400 and the Infi version is $1100 more@$1400 on sale. Regular price $1627. Pretty nutso bowies. Not my cup of beer, but interesting.
Busse produces the strongest knives in the world. Unchallenged for more than 30 years. Cutting more than 2,770 pieces of 1” hemp rope without resharpening

That's a fun set, I think a Benchmade Griptilian should be in every collection

I have successfully kept myself from ordering the Mora Allround 5.8 I have had in my cart all week. Will power. When it comes to knives I don't have much.

That looks like a lot of blade for 2 ounces.

Douk douk get ridiculous sharp. In former French Colonial Lands it is not uncommon to grind the tip off and use it as a straight razor.

I know in Algeria it is common to take a Douk and open the blade. Hammer the handle so it is now a fixed blade knife.

Then they make quick draw kydex sheaths.

                            Whats your latest knife purchase?

Picked up a discontinued Spyderco Spot. Wicked little necker. A shame they are no longer made. Paid a kings ransom for it...JK
