The maker is really talented. He made three in different sizes that look like that. Here's a pic from his listing post with all three:

It would be a nice set. I got the one I really wanted though. He makes some beautiful puukkos too.

Thanks for the pic. I like the middle one a lot...do you happen to know the specs on it? I'm kinda starting to get away from the bigger knives now that I carry an axe or a hatchet with me while camping/backpacking. Looking for a good bushcraft blade in the 4-5" range. I'm close to pulling the trigger on an Abe Elias knife (Diving Sparrow Knife Works) more specifically the Boreal model. The ergonomics on his handles are supposedly legendary.

Yeah that one was about a 4.6" blade IIRC... I'll paste the specs and link, but there were only those three and they sold. You could probably have him make you one though. The steel is pretty awesome, the same as 1080+ He has them professionally heat treated - mine has a hardness test divot on one side of the blade above the grind. He makes the sheaths too. Looks like the smaller blades were only .125" thick though.

        No 1 - blade thickness 0.244" ,1.41" width at ricasso,and 6.73 blade lenght.
        OAL - 12.6" ,tapered tang.
Price - sold shipped with tracking number.

        No 2 - blade thickness 0.125" ,1.18" width at ricasso,and 4.6" blade lenght.
        OAL - 9.56"
Price - sold shipped with tracking number.

        No 3 - blade thickness 0.125" ,1.10" width at ricasso,and 2.87" blade lenght.
        OAL - 6.96"
        sold

Right on, thanks for the links. Some cool knives there. And .125 is actually perfect for bushcraft.

No prob. I forgot that ARGUS Knives posted a 4.5" Kisp bushcrafter the other day you might like. $130 including kydex shipped is a steal for that knife I think. That black and green micarta looks great. The bowie that sold is in that post too - what a beauty.

Just got a Zero Tolerance 0566. It was extremely stiff out of the box. I took it apart and cleaned it. De-assisted it and polished the washers. After about 4 days and some very raw fingers it is pretty smooth. I ordered some larger phosphorus bronze washers which is supposed to make it smoother but we will see. I'm happy so far. I just didn't know about knife "break in" periods.

I recently received a ZT 0560 to practice polishing flats on. I think it went ok with a Dremel (not even close to a professional job)

Do you guys mind recommending a good sharpener that's around the $50. Or if I need to raise my budget, whatever price range you all suggest. Thanks!

I use these ones by Smith. Top product for a good sharpening and the bottom for quick touch ups:

I replaced an old Crock Stix with this one and it works welll. It came with five ceramic rods for $30 which seemed like a good deal. Two grits (pairs) and a serration rod.

                        Smaller Crock Stick for $14

I wonder if using a sanding block and guide by hand would produce a nice even grained shiny flat (like you can do with pistol slides). I'd mask the grind and obviously take the knife apart.

It's been a couple of years since I bought a knife---my personal outdoors knife is a 6 1/2" Fallkniven A1---couldn't be more satisfied with it.
My wife wanted an outdoor type knife, but a bit smaller---traded for a near new Fallkniven S1 (5.1") and she loves it---also worked just fine when I traveled to see my friend in Texas where they don't allow knives with over 5 1/2" blades…
Of course, my EDC is a Spyderco Delica 4 folding knife with a blade of just under 3"---legal in many places for carry...
