I'm no expert but you might want to look into the ramifications of carrying a fixed blade concealed here in California.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I bought 2 from ESEE Knives

Izula and Izula II in black.

I wasn't sure if I would like the skeletonized version so I bought both to try out. I decided that I like the feel of the micarta handles and that one will be my backpacking all purpose knife. I love the size and weight. I think it will do everything I need a knife for. I've started to shop for better backpacking gear that is smaller and lighter. This helps drop my pack weight by replacing my full size Kabar.

Haven't been buying much lately. I've got too many knives and have actually sold a couple expensive ones, but I came across this on another forum this and couldn't resist:

I'm not a big Spyderco fan, but have always liked the Native model. I have one of the base FRN handle w/ S30V models and a 1 of 500 G10 version with 440V steel already, neither of which get carried. I came across this one on another forum. I've got a serious weakness for Carbon Fiber. This one has fluted CF handle scales with a CPM S90V blade and is made in the USA, so a premium offering for Spyderco. I couldn't resist! With a blade just under 3", which is smaller than I usually carry, this may well become my go to for when I have to travel by air to places that aren't blade friendly.

              EDC knife

Kershaw 1555TI assisted opening folder. Paid $39.95 OTD, a bit high but I've been wanting one for awhile. Titanium CARBO Nitride coated, whatever the hell that is. The flipper assisted opening feature is very positive. The test drive sealed the deal for me.
