Picked up a zt 0220 titanium frame lock. It is a lot bigger and heavier than I anticipated. Real right lock up and needs to break in on the bearing decent. Seems a really high quality so far though.

ZT detents can feel brutal depending on the flipper shape, gimping. They break in after quite a while, but you can also make sure you aren't grinding the lock bar into the detent while gripping it. If you hold it looser and it is easy to get past the detent... you might try a different grip or a different clip (longer clp will shield the bar from your grip).

I've already flipped it a bunch of times (like I do all my knives) and it is flipping smooth and like a champ. Looking at it is almost too nice to carry. Thinking about bringing a cold steel code 4 tanto into the rotation so I can beat it up. The 0220 is a great knife so far but I doubt I'll put it through the rigors I put my 0350 through. Too pretty....

I say this and I'm still planning on getting the 0456 eventually too.

I thought you meant to say "detent" when you said, "needs to break in on the bearing decent"... hahah. Maybe not. Bearings just need a drop of oil or CLP if they are crusty. I had a 0452cf seized up from a salt water tide pool... and oil brought it back almost immediately.

After I got the 0456BW it is really hard to carry anything else. I don't think there has been one other knife that displaced so many other great ones. I have it 90% of the time now. Unexpectedly great knife for me.

I just got a Brian Fellhoelter FRH folder. I've got a few Fellhoelters and am biased as we are friends, but I think his knives are made with attention to detail that is second to none. I've had a limited edition FRH from a small run he did in 2014 for a small group on another forum, but never wanted to carry it as it was a special knife and I didn't want to beat it up, even though I really loved the design. I was just looking for a generic FRH if there is such a thing, to add to my EDC rotation so I could keep my LE version pristine.

I recently put a call out to see if I could find a plain one and ended up scoring this piece. As far as build, it's identical to my LE one, but not marked Usual Suspect. It's a Ti frame lock design with a CF pocketed inlay on the presentation side, so made from my favorite materials. The blade is 154 CM with a two tone finish with a heavy stone wash on the blade bevels and a polished finish on the flats. The chassis is also heavily stone washed Ti. It's a semi Wharncliff grind that's .150 thick and 3.5" long, so a stout blade in a compact chassis that's just over 4" closed. Brian makes his own custom deep carry clips, so it rides low in the pocket. It's not the sexiest looking knife I own, but may be one of the most functional and is built like a small tank! I love it!

I also included a pic of the pair for reference.

No you were right I did mean detent I got cell phone auto corrected. But I just sat at the computer reading and watching videos and flipped it a bunch. It's now stiff but fast once you apply enough pressure. Just as it's beat to be.

I have to say I have never seen a knife as highly regarded as the 0456. I didn't even know they made a black wash version. I prefer the standard version and look forward to testing it out. I cut myself on the 0220 today cleaning off some lint. Poked my pinky just barely and it sliced me pretty good.

I just picked up a ZT 0450CF. I was walking by the knife case and it caught my eye. Once I had it in my hand I had to have one. Got in on ex expertvoice for $100. Awesome knife

I think the worst from a flipper for me was a 0452CF when it was BNIB first few times I flipped it closed right on my thumbtop... never seen the top of a finger bleed that much. You learn pretty quick after one or two. I didn't know how smooth a flipper could be... but I adjust them all to stay where I put them now and then loctite the pivot. I don't think I ever had to redo adjusting a pivot on a ZT yet. I think my 0804CF slams shut still - it is so smooth.
