I'm definitely coming, how solid is the Spetember 25-26 date? The Trojans are on the road and the Raiders have a bye so that's a GREAT weekend for me to leave the wife at home and build some guns!
Does anyone have a good connection for engraving and anodizing? If we all do it together maybe we can score a nice volume discount? I'm thinking about making going with blue anodizing and calling it the FU-15...sigpic

Did you PM shadyjeff and tell him?
I know there are people here that do that type of work. I just don't know anyone off the top of my head to say.I'm definitely coming, how solid is the Spetember 25-26 date? I think the date is pretty solid since we didn't have a date for awhile.Originally posted by 69Mach1The virgin requires more work (don't they all

Hmmm.
I have a portable J-head Bridgeport mill with tooling. If only somebody
had the CNC kit to install on it, and some G-code, we could have quite
a party.
Heck, my tooling even includes brand-new AR 15 milling jigs. What about the 19th? Can the Commerce Clause be used to make it illegal for voting women to buy shoes from another state?Comment

I'd like to come and work on the paperweight I got from Z ME FLY into a standard 223
Any suggestions on lower part kits?- Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

I don't know if this is something I'm allowed to ask. I have a Wasr-10 and it has the really cool mag wobble receiver on it. Could I get a flat with the dimples on it and put it on my gun? Then copy the serial # and destroy my old crapy receiver since that serial is already registered to me.Comment

On a home built gun, you can put anything as the serial (or none at all). I have a Romy G that the "serial" is the same as the original numbers. Doesn't really matter if that "number" matches the rest of the gun parts really.
JustinFor any questions contact me by email.
Thanks,
Justin

Epoxy a couple of thin steel plates to the inside of the receiver.
You could, but honestly, I'd just start with a parts kit and build a 2nd AK.Could I get a flat with the dimples on it and put it on my gun?
When SHTF, you have two hands, you'll be happy to have two AKs
Yes and no.Then copy the serial # and destroy my old crapy receiver since that serial is already registered to me.
It's not "registered" to you. Long guns are not registered in California (yet).
On a home-build, you can define the serial number any way you'd like, but IF you put a serial number on it, you need to include the city/state of manufacture... you can't make a "clone" of the Century receiver.
A few months ago, someone made a receiver and serialized it FCKCADOJ0001
Personally, when I build my AR pistol, the serial number will be 2A-062010, model number will be SAP-2A- Rich

Hey Justin, yes it really matters if the numbers match. If the numbers do not match there can be some fitting issues and headspacing issues depending on what's matching and not.Last edited by Z ME FLY; 06-18-2010, 9:32 PM.Originally posted by 69Mach1The virgin requires more work (don't they all

He's talking about the number that the builder stamps on the receiver either matching or not matching the manufacturer's numbers on the parts kit.
Yes... it is preferable to have a matching-numbers parts kit.- Rich

Oh must of misunderstood his post...
But yup it is preferable to have a matching numbers receiver. That was what nodak use to do a long time ago. That is also the benefit of building your own flat so you can put what you want.Originally posted by 69Mach1The virgin requires more work (don't they all
