I actually love type 3's. They're fun to clear once you have the mechanics down.
I was doing dry practice earlier today and set my timer at 3.5 seconds for type 3's.

I'm easy to spot, I'm usually one of the tallest guys on the range and usually in all black.

wait; what kind of sights are on the Q5? are you worried about the one handed malfunctions?
if so, don't sweat it, you can use the ejection port and the malfunction clearances are just a small part of the class on day 1.

I fun TFX's on all my handguns, great sights.
well except for my XDM 5.25 as I prefer the blacked out rear sight it comes with.

Have been using TFX for my HD and CCW (outside Komiefornia) pistols. Up until the December FS class where I found that precision shots with the wider front sight TFX a bit more challenging and hence, tad slower. I replaced my G19.3 TFX with a Trijicon HD XR.

My plinking toys have thin red fiber optic fronts and blacked rears.

Hate to tell you, but NOBODY noticed mine for the past 3 days. I even asked two guys in my class if they are here on this forum, they answered to the affirmative, but neither noticed the button on my hat right next to my name

OTOH, there was a guy with a Thordsen stock on his AR, which was a dead giveaway ��

I guess when I take the rifle classes, I should rent then... Mine, too, has a Thordsen...

Bring it! The scratches on the holster will just be a badge of honor for the gun. Been there, done that kind of thing.

I am less worried about the holster, but more the pistol. I don't think the Q5 sights will work; would just then have to see how to use the ejection port.

Also order some 17 or 19 rounders to be shipped to your hotel room, you’d be a lot happier in class. Of course you need some magblocks on hand so you can bring them home after class.

Was thinking the same thing!!! In the December class, ordered 17-rounders for the Wife from ASW. At the end of class, just gave away it to instructors and other students.

Not anymore. Importation of hi-cap parts kits is a misdemeanor now.

Just wanted to point out the legal aspect. One can do whatever they're comfortable with.

Taking my daughter for her first trip. 4DDH. She has wanted to go for years and with work and school schedules, this time it all worked! She’s very excited.

It's not a felony, I don't think. I think it's an infraction for the first offense and a 100 dollar fine. People like to yell felony for any and all gun laws. I can't find any reference indicating it would be a felony. If anybody actually has the law and it says felony, I will amend this post

Order some mag blockers (magazineblocks.com), epoxy it to the baseplate or epoxy the baseplate to the magazine body and you got a perfectly CA legal 10 rounder to bring home. Why give it away, unless **I** am there to receive it
