I threw them into 'get home' bags just in case, but have considered just selling them.

I was sent the CA (roster approved) versions that do not have the updated trigger system (mags will not drop when released and gun will not fire w/o a mag inserted... so not sure if the FAT trigger upgrade improves performance, but they are not allowed to sell those with the gun in CA.

I even contacted FMK about how poor the gun was and even asked about buying the improved trigger system to modify the gun (to see if that would improve the gun), but they said they would only sell those to an armorer/FFL that would install it... but then had 1 contact FMK and they would only offer the triggers if they bought in bulk, which is idiotic, since most FFLs wouldn't want to pay for overpriced trigger systems and won't bother stocking these guns in CA.
Not 100% sure, but 99% sure that a guy showed up at our IDPA match with one of those last week that had malfunction after malfunction and that ultimately led to him being DQ'd while trying to clear the malfunction while "on the clock".

      About the FS FMK

We considered titling this entry “Junk Gun”, but that wouldn’t have been fair. One out of two specimens of the FMK Model 9C1 pistols we saw in our June NRA Personal Protect…

Glad I never got in on that deal. The excruciatingly long wait time I had for my LCR was enough for me to never participate in that type of sales gimmic again.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

reason FS give free FMK is to make sure you practice your malfunction.

No kidding, I can count on one hand the amount of malfunctions I have had at Frontsight shooting my XD's,LCR, the FAL , 870, mini carbine and mini 14. Zero malfunctions have been type 2 or 3's. 90% are type 1's and usually a bad round. The LCR was the only odd bird as I had #4&5 round have the roll crimp loosen up from continued recoil abuse if I did tactical reloads and not rotate to those two rounds for firing. The round actually grew causing a cylinder lock up/jamb. Once I figured what was the deal I just stopped doing tac reloads, and went to full/emergency reloads. The issue went away. Now this only happens in training for this gun, under real circumstances I highly doubt it'll happen as I will most likely have fired most of the five shots and a full reload would be prudent anyways.

I probably jinxed the crap out of myself posting this too.

I do have to say, I've always been a rifleman. My first HG course was at Frontsight and while I played with handguns in the desert I really sucked using one. Frontsight taught me right up front that I didn't know crap about how to use a handgun properly and to its fullest potential. A year after my first class I can operate my handguns instinctively. A type 1 is just a blur and still get my second hit on target, most of the time I have to stop and think if a type 1 actually happened. So whatever jinxing I am giving myself, I'm sure I can overcome it easily.

                        LOL. Mother of all malfunctions.

(I was going to put some jokes here, but that video of the 9 y/o shooting her instructor with a F/A Uzi made me change my mind. Condolences to his family )

Not at FS. It was at The Last Stop in White Hills, Arizona. Fox News report here. Other MSM sources call it a "killing".

The girl's parent was taking the video? Fortunately the full video clip was not shown.
It's messed up. Just like the 8 year old boy that shot himself at a Massachusetts gun show in 2008 with an Uzi.

Definitely a messed up and sad situation. Stupid media sensationalizing it with ill chosen words. Should of read as an unfortunate accident at local gun range where 9yo child accidentally shoots instructor. But no way that doesn't sell web/ time or paper news.

Luckily for us with kids at Frontsight, the instructors actually hold the uzi's with the kids just to avoid something like this from happening. I would chock it up to a complacent instructor. Probably been doing it like that million times without fail, but it only takes one time to go horribly bad. I see it all the time with forklift operators.
