Sure, you could run one right handed and one left handed. This also keeps the biceps equal sized. J/K please do not attempt this.

If you are only going to do pistol, the the SDB will do but their dies cost more since they are proprietary to this press. By the time everything is said and done you would have been near to the cost of a 550. With the 550 you can still use the dies you already have.

BTW. I said the same thing when I started reloading. now I'm doing everything I shoot from 9mm to 223 and will be starting on 308 by the summer.

I'm a little late, but it won't save any time at all. If you have 2 presses, you still have to change the dies once each, for a total of 4 changes. With one press, you still have to do 4 changes.

I don't see how you can save time having multiple presses. Can't operate both at the same time.

the Redding T7 is not a auto index like the LCT, so it wouldn't speed anything up. Would probably slow you down.

Since you have a LCT changing dies etc isn't an issue. You can get another turret for about $13.

If you want to speed up productivity, you need a progressive.

Two single stage presses side by side speeds up my loading in both rifle and pistol. I often size on one and expand on the other, or seat in one and crimp in the other press. Doing both operations without putting down the case saves me time.

I've had my SDB for over 20 years. Does an amazing job cranking out ammo. There's honestly nothing even close to it for handgun ammo. Get one. Just do it. You'll only regret that you didn't earlier.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

If your going to add a second press, the Lee classic cast turret is the press you want. Buy an extra turret for each caliber and then switching form 9mm to .308 is just a matter of seconds. You can use your other press for sizing, swaging, or other needs and have the turret press for your reloading.

It may be faster by virtue of having less time spend changing dies, but not so fast as to double your output.

Look into a Lee Classic Turret if you want to double output without going progressive.

My bad. When I originally read your thread I thought you said you had a LCT. But rereading it now I see you have a single stage.

A LCT will definitely speed things up. I can't even imagine reloading pistol on a single stage.

I'll second any of the 'quick change bushings' above. Takes no more that 5 seconds to change dies. Can't imagine running my Lee single stage without them and having to re-check each die every time.

One thing you could look intobofn your thinking about a turret press is the BL550 it isnt a progressive and runs like a turret but has the 4 stations, eventually if you want you can upgrade it to the 550B and have the manual progressive and all the par ts are interchangeable

The LCT isn't incredibly expensive and setting up each caliber with it's own turret is pretty cheap.

And your old single stage probably won't go to waste. I've had my LCT for 5 years now & occasionally think an extra single stage would be handy for odd chores.

I have 2 Lee single stage presses mounted on the same stand. I have 2 she'll holders per caliber and I run both presses with a friend. I size cases on one press while my buddy bells the case mouths on the other. While loading, I seat the bullets while my buddy crimps the case mouths.

In short, having a second press is only faster if one of your friends is around. If someone is around, the second press comes in handy.
