Recommend me a case lube!

Doesn't anyone use the dry graphite on lead shot in a small bowl anymore? Or this that just too 20th century?

What kind of press are you using? What calibers are you loading for? Are you shooting these all in the same weapon? Is that weapon a semi-auto, or something else..?

We need a little more info, dude.

If you're loading on a progressive, I would suggest either dillon lube, or mixing up your own with Lanolin, and alcohol. DO NOT use Hornady "one shot"; what they mean is "One shot, and you'll be pulling a stuck case from your dies".

If you're reloading rifle brass on a single stage, and full-length resizing, you should use imperial wax, or mink oil (the latter of which can be found at your local drugstore).

If you're reloading rifle brass on a single stage, and only neck-sizing (which should be done only if you're using the cases in the same rifle as the brass was fire-formed in), then you should use dry micha, or graphite.

If you're reloading pistol brass on a single stage, get a carbide die, and don't lube.

I have pretty much used all the lubes mentioned including STP and automatic tranny fluid for full length sizing to neck turning.
I load from the 17 flea to the 50 bmg improved and will keep using the Imperial Sizing Die Wax until something comes out better.
Better means less mess if the can falls over no black floor from graphite no oily mess from STP and that it is foolproof without needing to be shaken up or aded to other products.
With the wax if you drop it you keep eating your sandwich and pick it up when you need it.With the graphite you and the reloading room both come out black.With the oils you never get them off the floor and they ruin your cloths.I don't like mixing anything but cocktails so the lanolin-alcohol is out as well.
I do use the Kiwi neutral shoe polish but I use for release agent when bedding stocks.
I recommend that everyone try all of these lubes so when they finally buy the wax they will have no doubts on what to use.

Dillon and I lube all ( pistol and Rifle) cases. Less work for my old bones.

I use imperial when I am sizing on a single stage press.
I use RCBS liquid lube when I am sizing/trimming on a progressive press with a casefeeder.
I use Dillon when I am sizing on a progressive without a casefeeder.

Tri-flo or any cheap spray lubricant (must tumble after use). I used to use the brand name reloading spray stuff until a vet showed me the light!

Hornady One shot-slicker than snot.

One shot is great for straight wall pistol brass, even when using carbide dies. I have never stuck a pistol case with it, and it makes the reloading much smoother on the 550 and 1050 with bullet feeder. Sizing dry brass sucks.

One Shot is crap for bottle neck rifle brass. Dillon or lanolin is awesome, but the residue is sticky. 20-30 minutes in the tumbler fixes the sticky part.

Hornady Unique is very good as well, but too slow for most of my work.

Sorry you've had issues, I've never had an issue.

OP at the end of the day, as long as you don't use something thats intended to be case lube, you'll be good to go and your mileage will always vary when compared to fellow Calgunners.

Lanolin and 99% alcohol here.

Mixed my first batch Friday and full length sized 650 pieces of 223 no problem.

Lots of different mix ratios out there. I did 2 ounces of lanolin to 18 ounces of alcohol. Mine def have a residue on them. Ill try a 308 case and see but I doubt Ill want to add anymore lanolin.

Part I hate is having to re-tumble to remove lube.

The last time I saw a topic like this I was lead to look at the wire pulling lube at Home Depot, but they had two types, not sure which one but I think the waxy might have been the one to go with, either way they were 32oz bottles for $7-$8. I did not get any yet but they are made by the KLEIN I think.

I would skip all of the good lubes and just use the best lube which is Imperial Sizing Die Wax.

+1, I totally agree. Just e little on my thumb and finger and put very very little on each case as I load it into the reloader to size. With Imperial wax, the least, the better. Just barely a coating. I've reloaded about 1500 and the small can of wax barely shows any used.
