Unique is a good bang for your buck but meters poorly in my opinion, and in .45ACP use, it tends to smoke a lot! Other shooters nearby think I"m shooting black powder at times!

Which one meters consistently through a Hornandy powder dispenser?

I have on order AA#5 and AA#7 since I know these are ball powders and are fairly fine granules so they should meter very well, but I don't know a lot about the other 3 on my list.

Just ordered 3 lbs of tire group from powder valley, they only have 1 pounders in stock, on the hunt for w231, MIDWAY gets small pistol primers in stock on march 1st, I remember using bullseye a few years back and had problems with inconsistent loads, anyways thanks again everyone, I'll be referring back to this post for future testing

I'm no big fan of BE , but I'm using it for 147 grain lead because it's supposed to be good for that. With 124 grain it's OK at light loads, but I prefer WSF wayyyy more. It's just less snappy for me, easier for followup shots, that kinda thing.

Yeah, W231 is pretty much a gunbroker item right now, if you can find it there.

W231 and bullseye for me. 231 is cleaner burning. Got a good deal on bullseye and overall happy with it. Both meter fine in my Hornady LNL AP.

I think I'm going to try the titegroup and w231 for now, titegroup is available on powder valley but w231 I'm having trouble findin instock, will check my local guns stores again, thanks

W231 is used by many professional loaders so it's one that's can be hard to find. My source shop uses it and won't sell to the public unless they have enough to supply the needs of their own reloading equipment.

I use W231 for 9mm and 45acp. It meters very well with the Lee auto disc system. My favorite load for 9mm is 115gr FMJ (Precision Delta), 4.4gr W231, Winchester WSP primer. This load cycles my Glocks (17 and 19) and make MINOR power factor for USPSA.

I'd have tried out the TG you have on hand to see how you like it before paying the Hazmat for more or trying to track down some 231.

231 is a good, versatile powder though. Not as accurate in my M&P9 as my TG load, but it's softer shooting and doesn't make the gun as hot. 231 also meters well, but not as smooth as TG in my 3BR.

I'm using whatever I can find at the moment, and it never seems to be more than a pound or two of any one powder. Not to mention the three different brands of primers on the bench, just to get through the next week or two.

On the other hand, I've gotten pretty good at developing loads based on available components. And it probably helps that a Beretta M9 is willing to feed, fire, and cycle damn near anything.
