Back a few years (2004-2006), cleaned and unprocessed (not resized) .223 was going for about $25-30/1000 and cleaned and roll sized was in the $50-60/1000 range.

If you are selling it as is (not cleaned or sized) then I would say no more than $50/1000. If you process it fully (clean and size) then maybe $95-120/1000 would be a non-gouging market value at this moment.

Lake City is good stuff, especially if it's all same year head stamp.

The possibility of being fired from a machine gun. Almost makes it worthless...

$50-60/1k is the general guideline for unprocessed brass.

                That's what roll-sizing is for.

Not that I would turn mg brass away , i just find it slightly difficult to resize. I wouldn't recommend new reloaders to use once-fired mg/gov brass until they have their recipe/technique down...

Brass fired from a SAW is really tough to salvage using a standard SB die. Roll sizing is just about the only way to recover it properly. The case head needs to be restored to proper dimensions, a roll sizer will do that, a regular size die won't, it only sizes down part way, not right to the case head.

Wow, so the casehead expands when fired from a SAW?

I would assume that it would be a loose chamber compared to .223, but a full-length resizing die won't cut it due to the head expanding huh?

Can someone show some pics of this? Or is this just a nick/peened in the back of the case head that leaves it unable to even enter a case gauge (like some brass I recently picked up at the range)?

                      EDIT: This is an issue:

                      After a FL-resize, too:

I see that being an issue in itself.

I won one of their auctions for all of those bins of brass. I had it delivered to the City yard and I am STILL trying to find a damn bolt action rifle in 20mm now...

Seriously though, another junior member showing up asking how much we are willing to pay for brass when they get it in?

Seriously? I think this thread needs to go to the private ammo and reloading marketplace forum ONCE brass is in and stop trying to sell it here now.

A week and a half ago I jumped on someone else for doing just about the same thing.

To be fair the OP has been an active member for a year, and has a good itrader rating.

Its not like he signed up to price gouge. The other guy literaly had like 5 posts, 2 of which were to sell his guns for exhorbitant rates.

Yeah I looked at that. That is why I was nice about it. OP is member for about 10 months, started 7 threads, 5 of which were for selling (1 buying or wanting to buy) 1 fishing (this one) and 1 asking if what they got was a good deal. Most of the actual contributions I saw seemed to be along the lines of FP562, cept they might have one or two more words and at least a three syllable word in one of them. (that is what convinced me to be nice )

Living in PRK has taught me one thing. We all adapt. When all the gun owners in PRK got trout slapped back in 1999/2001 with that totally BS awb, many thought it was over, but I am glad to see that we are independent thinkers and we get along enough to pull our underground factions together, make up some websites, spread the word, recruit others and then find ways around the laws. It seems though that that is the way it goes across the board. Where there is a will there is a way and if people are getting banned and kicked and threads deleted for coming in here and taking a dump on our beloved reloading forums, then the newcomers will notice that and adjust their posts to that point where it CAN be legit, but really, they are just fishing. If anyone wants to know prices then what is better then looking at gunbroker and the auction prices? Those prices are real world what people are willing to pay + shipping. If you do not have two brain cells to rub together to figure out to go there and look, then don't come here and fish around. I have so much freaking brass that I am going to have to start selling off 9 and 45 soon because I have no place to put it all and each week my brass seems to grow by about 10-15 lbs. I am heading out to the store now to get heavier duty bags and plywood to build up walls to contain it all. AND I am also gonna get three more clear bins to store it all in. Soon, the bins I have now might very well just crack, then I will have to deal with 100k + shells on the floor. Not cool, but that is MY problem and I will sell it on GB to alleviate the storage space. I aint gonna come here and ask what a fair price is for brass to be sold at. I will put it on GB for .01 and let it sell. It WILL sell.
The more folks come here and post like this then the more actual reloading posts get pushed to the bottom of the list... Just like the newsgroups. It started with Newsbam and some other jackass that was mad at someone so they just started renaming things and posting garbage and it stunk up several groups, and then spread, and then there was one or two guys posting 4-5 BS spam posts a day, then there were 20 guys posting, now there are many people doing that. The quality of posts there have gone down. Images are heavily spammed, same ****, different name, different poor resolution. And yet nobody ever did anything, now for anyone to get in and hack and slash and start kicking/banning posters would be a pointless fight for them. And nobody really cares because nobody REALLY paid for it in the first place. Go there now and you get infected by crap just for stepping into the groups let alone wade through 1.5 million+ message headers. Clear out/delete all the bs and we are down to about 500k decent posts... But that is just my opinion. I took a personal oath to defend my country from all enemies foreign, domestic AND cyber...

Wow, and I got the word out that I am selling brass too... (shame on me, what a dick move that was...)
j/k, I am not selling brass right now. Please do not ask unless you want to make me rich, but should I sell brass here I will walk down the same path that Bill has taken because I am cool like that.

I think the OP will have the market on brass cornered here using the prices that were thrown out here. Most people reload partly/mainly to save some money and paying crazy prices for brass won't save you money. I'd like to pick up some more brass but not bad enough to pay an arm and leg for it.
