    Hi Wildcatter,

Open a free photobucket.com account; save the pictures to your computer and upload them to your Photobucket account. Open a picture in Photobucket then right click on the picture, select properties, and copy the address of the picture (URL) (http://XXXXXXXXXXXX. Open a new message and select the yellow box (insert image) in the message format screen (toolbar at the top of the screen), then paste the URL in the highlighted http:// area. I believe there is a limit of 5 images per post.

Only calibers starting with a 4 or larger are interesting.

However, I'm thinking of going to an A2 stock and trying one of these from Brownell's:

I got some Round nose and Hornady HAP bullets to work up some fast movers for the 450b but haven't got around to it yet; It should be fun.

Maybe I'll just stay tuned... there was some of that done earlier and I believe that's Wildcatter's specialty.

      Have fun,

      Boomer
I'm using an ACE LTD stock, they have two sizes of recoil pad, .5" and 1".

Way to go Boomer!!! I hope this works..

The Son of my Buddy is the balding gentleman, he is about 6'2" and about 275 lbs..

The green measurement on the cat is 18”. It will shrink and won’t be officially measured for something like four months. The current record is 16 4/16 (Yes I know, it’s how B&C does it).

Like I said they shot this yesterday. After hunting it for three seasons the success was tremendous but at a great cost. Two seasons ago it attacked him and nearly got took off his head, but save for his faithful dog, he would not be here, but the dog gave his life saving the master... God Bless great Dogs..

ok guys just joined the forum. i have been reading this for a while. i just got my reloading stuff sent up here to alaska. i am in the airforce and have lots of ar experience. my 450 is the heat. i just got my first 100 pieces of empty brass from cheaper than dirt. they have some let if you guys need any btw. ok i am taking my thumper for caribou, black bear, and moose this year. i will be using the 270 barnes. ok the pic above this post shows 27grns h110 the caption above says 37grns. so which is it? i would like to use this load thanks guys for all your work. best forum i have ever seen. also i just bought a cannelour tool. anybody used one of these yet to help the bullet from moving in the case? i read about a lot of problems about this. i know with the barned i wont be using it. maybe with the sst . i dont think the sst has a grove. i bet the tool might work wonders ill see in time what it does with accuracy

I understand your point on the pressure. Regarding the recoil -- I went thru the same process with the 45-70 -- how much is enough. This is a light rifle and recoil will always be heavy with the heavier bullets. How about reversing course -- I want a light recoiling 100 yard plinking load using a 200 or 230 gr 45 acp bullet. Anyone go there yet?
I think Slash worked this one up. 45grs of Lil gun & 230 gr. FMJ. about 2550fps. I've been shooting it for awhile. Works like a champ! I still use my wifes oven mitt for a recoil pad. ""No babe.....haven't seen it"" LOL!

                    It Is 37gr H110.
The Barns is 275gr .451 bullet for the 460 S&W
It was a misprint i wrote on the target at the range.
As always this is the data I produced reload at your own risk.

I am looking for a wimp load. Maybe 1200 to 1500 fps. Just for short range plinking. Needs to run in the 35K psi range. I have a good handle on the heavy stuff.

                          velocity?

jager have you put these barnes loads over the chrono? if not ill do it when i can get to the range. i think ill start a good bit lower and work my way up slowly. thanks for posting and helping this round out. i think its a great concept. there is no ammo on the shelf for this anywhere in alaska as guides and hunters are snapping these up and putting good bullets in them for bear guns. its a good option to a 45-70. the barnes bullets make a 275grn a decent bear load. i have no fear of that bullet punching deep and doing damage. has anybody used a cannelure tool on the sst? i was wondering. jager also your crimp from the photos seems really deep. must it be crimped like that to prevent the bullet moving in the case under fire?

Impressive group Jager! I received my 275gr'ers the other day. I'm going to try out your load, if my groups aren't tight I'll know it's me.

Btw, for the 200gr Barnes I've settled on 42.8grs of Lil gun. 1.25" group of 4 at 100yrds. 2455fps.

My load with that bullet -- I use Lil'gun, 34.5 Grains. Velocity is 2,142 fps (16" barrel). Groups not a tight as Jagermaster's, but 1 1/2 inches. See my post on page 54.
