I called Dillon myself and asked them about the RF 100 and referenced your situation. They sold 1 on my account for sure.

I love the thing and beyond the safety aspect its just so darn cool to see how the thing works. I have no idea how some genius came up with this design. Looking at it you would think there is no way it could work. The primers move up hill along a ramp which seem to deify gravity.

I cleaned my Primer pick up tube. It probably had 15,000 primers through it. The q-tip came out green as all hell. Try to light to check for flammability. Nothing, only Q-tip burned at normal rate..

Same result as I. Only I had 1/3rd the primers through mine, but still no sign of accelerated ignition or combustion.

Well, for what it's worth, I asked them for one at dealer cost (since it seems like my accident got 5 of their RF100's sold...directly). The guy I talked with brought it up to the owner and they haven't gotten back to me yet. That was late Friday, so maybe I'll hear on Monday.

We'll see.......maybe they worry that giving me something like that would be admiting liability or something. Dunno.

That bites they sold a few RF100s because of what happened to you I would have thought they would have stepped up to the plate . on another note I offically used my RF100 and it works great a lot of money but I like it

You would have to know how many RF100's they sell every week to determine the significance of Grants event. All we know for sure is that Brian1979 bought one because of it. There must be tens of thousands of Dillon reloader's out there without any reported problems. Like I said, I only know of one other guy in 42 years of shooting that had a similar experience, and the event occurred while picking up primers from the flip tray.

Some of these 'knowns' are PM's I received.

When I talked to the guy over at Dillon, he stated that the RF is not a big seller. He stated not too many people are willing to shell out $300 + on an item that sorts and loads primers into a tube.

It is possible that some reloaders may spend their reloading money a little differently now, possibly prioritizing their money on more 'safety based' items now.

Who knows for sure, and yes, my instance was VERY ISOLATED. But I sure wouldn't mind getting a phone call back letting me know if I can get an RF at dealer cost. If the answer is 'no,' that's cool. I'll buy one at full price cuz I've ascertained, considering I'm already vested in my Dillon press, that the RF is the most practical way for me to get the 'safe' feeling again and resume loading.

All I want is to heal up, and start reloading again........Dillon could help with one of those.

I would forward the emails and references from the other forums to Dillon, it sounds like they made enough return on investment to kick you an RF100 down for cost.......

FWIW, they way it's mapped in medicine, you use a fine wire and touch around the perimeter of where you can feel and where you can't. Maybe use a sharpie to mark the boundary. Then, periodically - retest. If the area of where you cannot feel gets smaller over time - that's a great thing (nerve improvement).

I guess I don't understand the need for the RF 100, didn't your primer pick-up tube explode when you were dumping the primers into the primer tube on the machine? From what I gather the RF100 only loads your pick-up tubes, you still have to dump them into the machine which is when your kaboom happened.

the RF100 only loads the tubes that come with it and they have a shield around them and when I talked to Dillon about it the guy said it was designed to contain the blast similar to the shield around the primer tube on the machine
