Finally looked it up and found out the average RH for 11/2/11 was 15 mmHg and the low was 10 mmHg.

You probably meant to say 15% RH and the low was 10% RH. That is a really low humidity.

boy that is popcorn dry if like a previous poster said thet the military do not work with exsplosives when <25 RH then that at least gives credence to NOT loading when RH is LOW.

It would be completely negligent for to not tell you guys the story. As I play around and experiment with some different failsafes, I'll let you all know.

I'm not ordering the rf-100 yet - I've ordered the titanium tube from McMaster Carr (the link is posted in my other reply). But I will update about how that all comes together. It's an expensive tube at $63! ...but it'll make me feel better.

The rf-100 will come as more funds free themselves up.

Yeah no problem. I am sure its going to work great. The originals had some issues with frequent upside down primers. Since then they incorporated a Rheostat which works like a light dimmer. This allows you to adjust the rate of vibration to your specific primer choice.

The fact that there is very minimal handling of the primers makes me feel better. I know you had the tube blow while pulling the pin and that part cant be avoided but at least the RF 100 uses an outer tube which Dillon says is thick walled.

My press is now grounded so before doing anything I will just touch my press and discharge any static build up. I am so thankful you posted all this because all winter long I get shocked getting in and out of my car etc. Never crossed my mind the dangers of this when reloading.

I suppose its like like those stories of people catching fire while pumping gas in their car. Cant believe it happened but it must be possible even though just slightly.

%RH is a unit less number, mmHg is for pressure. You probably meant 10-15% RH. AccuWeather is predicting 16%RH for for Wednesday, but that is an outside ambient condition. %RH inside a house is usually higher because of the water stored in drywall, furniture, carpet, clothes, plus water vapor from the showers, dishwasher, laundry room. It also depends on how well your house is insulated. You can buy really nice ones for just a few dollars.

Assuming the house was wired correctly to begin with....... If it wasn't, then 'going hot' will have a new meaning.

We have voltmeters, thermometers, you name it, we have meters.......

Is there a meter that detects static? It would be nice to know that once you ground, that you have in fact dissipated the static electricity.
