Bad Attitude @ Angeles Reloading Store.

hard to win. Turner's is mostly staffed by friendly idiots, lol. take your pick these days. i mostly buy online or from fellow calgunners privately. not much you can't get a hold of.

I got that attitude at the counter the 2 times I went there, and never came back. They have absolutely no tolerance for noobs; if they don't know you they'll flat-out ignore you. They make you feel as if you are bothering them.

The last time, there were two guys at the counter talking to each other, I had to interrupt them to get them to take my money. Shame on me for making them work. Poor dears!

Not everyone can be long term experts, but my money's the same as anyone else's. I've only owned firearms for about 6 years, so I guess I don't rate proper treatment.

Seriously, I dont understand you guys. I have gone into the reloading store a number of times to buy stuff and never had a problem. Usually it goes like this...... Hi, I'll take an 8lb jug of XYZ.... and a bag of ABC.... blah, blah blah, easy, peasy. Sounds to me like some of you are going in and expecting reloading lessons. How would you respond to somebody asking you which powder to use for reloading your .38? Maybe the fella doesn't feel like teaching
lessons, or guessing at your reloading capabilities, which likely are not very good if you have to ask what kind of powder to use for your individual needs.
I would suggest you do your homework, learn how to load, and what to use,
and if you go in... simply ask for what you want. No need to come into a public forum and impugn some guys character because he wouldn't cook your freakin dinner for ya.

You could always shop at Phillips Wholesale. I've only dealt with them once and they were great!

I would warn that Phillips is not open all days of the week. Something like thur, fri, sat I don't remember exactly but call for the hours.
Phillips is mostly oriented toward shotgun reloading. He has an amazing supply of pistol/rifle bullets and a huge supply of extinct bullets at good prices with some bargins for sure. My wife works nearby and I stop in as often as I can. Very helpful guy and nice as can be he just wants your business.

Phillups Wholesale - Rick is Knowledgeable, helpful, has good prices and is great to deal with. Open Thr, Fri, & Sat. Call before you make the drive as he is a one man operation and if something comes up - the store may be closed.

Rick is very cool. He runs the shop by himself. Word of warning - When he looks like he is very busy, don't expect him to spend much time with you. He'll just give you a very short non-emotional answers to your questions.

No, But you get it a lot of times. What you expect and what you can actually get are two different things. You have to remember most people are not gonna spend a whole hour answering your reloading questions or test driving 5 vehicles.

Have a positive attitude, if you are having a bad day stay home.
Your price + service offering to represent a good value. If you can't beat the internet (few can) give me the customer service to make up for the difference.
Answer my questions without the baggage of years of "finger banging". (Every other industry has tire kickers, if for some reason the laws of business don't apply to your shop, by all means let me know why. Otherwise...deal with it without an attitude. Under no circumstances are you doing me a favor. You own a business, you won't own it much longer in the age of internet if you treat me like I SOMEHOW OWE YOU SOMETHING!

Angeles Reloading store gets its fair share of 'everybody'. There are three people who work there, all named (I believe) correctly in this thread. One is old and has tough skin (called diabetes and not for sissy people), the 'pony tail' has seen his fair share of elephants and been 'over there' in Indo... he is a good teacher of the art of reloading and a good shot to boot. The youngest guy, usually on Sundays, is a pleasant guy and is learning.

I buy there regularly and you "do" have to treat each person differently. Some of the folks who come in present real issues to sales folks. They say "I'm going to do this or that." and then wait. Well, what they are going to do is blow their dang hand off and at least two of the three folks working there "KNOW" that immediately. But try 'en tell 'em that! Say, "Jesus, don't do that!" but oh know... they're gonna do it. There's some threads about a 'magnum' gun that blew up floating about the internet. That (to my knowledge) occurred at Angeles and was user error. But it 'may' have been 'reloader user' error and it "could" have been prevented if someone listened.

I've been up there often and I still try to listen although I know that Rolf can have his good days and bad days and if you get him on a bad day you'll think he's an A-hole but he's not really...

It's good to know there are other places around but Angeles is close and so far there's nothing happened there that I cannot "put up" with for the very reasonable prices and, if you care to, education.

BTW, the reloading class is pretty good.

And you have to remember that Rolf teaches a class on reloading and probably doesn't like to give away free advice. He REALLY knows his stuff if you can get him to talk. I've been lucky a couple of times. I remember when he was one of the RO's there. The old timers like Ed and Kevin are good people too. If you want reloading advice Kevin is a good guy to ask. He'll tell you what to do.

The guy at Angeles was nice enough after talking to him for a little bit. I can see how he'd rub folks the wrong way though. Like most things...patience is a virtue.

That's just lame.

Bob, I was under the impression that you were taking the criticism in this thread to heart because the service in the last few months has really been 100% better. I will make sure I introduce myself the next time I am in and you can throw me out personally if that's your take on things.

Obviously I am not the only one with a problem though, something to think about.

you'd be hard pressed to find such a well organized, well stocked reloading/reloading supply store in LA.

go in, get your things, if you need powder kindly tell him (whoever 'he' is) what you need, pay and get out.

I've just drop a couple hunsky there and he seems ok enough. Keeping in mind some people will never be people persons!! I think you can't expect everyone to be like Norstroms.
