    Yes.
    There is no need for the extra powder capacity, recoil and shorter barrel life of the larger case.

          Yes, And they did this because Lapua is not making .284 brass at the moment. This also give slightly better support around the primer and the pocket will not loosen up as fast. It's only about 20-40 fps fast than a .284 Shehane
