How to pull several hundred rounds

I need to pull these rounds to verify there are no double loads..

To tell the truth, I HATE smashing a pulling hammer on my cement garage floor. I swear it feels like its gonna blow up any time, which of course is nonsense, but I cant shake it.

Any ideas ???

Collett bullet puller, makes pretty good time when you get a rhythm

I had to pull about 75 one time, it made short work.

Whoa! Too much work. Take one apart, dump the powder and weigh the case and bullet.
Then weigh the complete rounds and look for the possible heavier ones.

NICE. I was wondering about that. Also i could weight some bullets and brass and get a worst case/best case scenario....

Especially if they are reloads there may be too much variation between the weight of the case and the bullet for that to work. Don't forget the margin of error on electronic scales if you use one.

Reloading .38 for example, you might use 5.5 grains of powder. That's just under 0.36 grams in weight.

I've done this before and it sort of works. But my reloads were all using the same case and the bullets were of a consistent weight.


This would not work if you load with mixed cases and/or if the bullet weights vary.

Like if you're loading a 230g 45ACP and using 5.1g of powder, if your case varies by 5g then it's a moot point to perform the weight method.

You'll need caliber specific collets.
ETA: I use this, if the cases aren't crimped too hard it can be adjusted so that the bullets can be reused

If you do plan to use your kinetic bullet puller, you can use the shell holder from your press instead of the 3-piece holder which makes it faster.

The RCBS collet puller listed above is worth every penny. I used to use a impact hammer for the occasional round but it’s a pain in the ***. I picked up about 100 rounds of 9mm once for the components, bought the collet puller, and never looked back. Can’t believe I hadn’t bought one sooner.
