Redding tells people to add hot glue to profile some of their stems. Early production 22tcm dies comes to mind.
People have been modifying guns for ages. That I can see as potentially dangerous in some cases.
False: you are the only one who feels this way.

I'll tell you what cooks my noodle. People trying to bubble wrap the world. That has caused us to go from a free nation where little Joey could be sent by Granpa Ken to the hardware store to buy dynamite (full or half sticks) to a world like today.

More power to the modders and if they screw up and hurt themselves then it is on them and them alone. Safety is something that is individual and cannot be forced as the unsafe will simply find a new outlet for their foolishness. Well I suppose you could put the entire human race into a Coma... you know for safety reasons. Gotta keep those kids safe, COMA time!
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

Damn straight. You can not legislate crazy...

Or stupidity for that matter. Hmmm

Safety, Stupidity and Crazy. SSC. You can not legislate SSC

You can not legislate safety, stupidity and crazy. YCNLSSAC
          CASSLYNC

Yoda would say: Crazy and Stupidity; Safety, legislate you not can...

Bingo. Trigger job, drill and tap for scope mounts, polish rings, opening up barrel channels for bull barrels, ream new chambers from old ones, drill out stocks for recoil reducers, fit butt stocks, cut your own revolver grips, polish internals till you can see your face in them.

and using a file on a reloading die is considered by some to be unsafe? Where was I when I was boiling an entire barreled action I just acid stripped the bluing off of??

No worries, you can always take the stem to a gunsmith for proper rework.

When I bought my 9mm push through sizer, the kit came without the plunger stem. I emailed Midway and they passed the buck and told me to contact Lee, I did and they sent me one in the mail. In the mean time, I made a plunger with a carriage bolt. The head was the right size to fit in the shell holder slot. It worked fine.

Glad it didn't explode and I didn't shoot my eye out.
