If you do decide to buy it add me on xbone as i haven't finished the pre-sequel yet and i got a free copy coming from gearbox

never played the pre sequel or all the DLC for 2. i am loving the collection so far. and getting all the DLC for both games is really awesome if you have never played it.

I like the review by angry joe the best, just google angry joe hardline and it pops up. It is long but funny as hell and sums it up nicely.

For 120 bucks the game is a joke and a bad one at that. The singleplayer is ok but completely mediocre. The multiplayer is a joke, very little content the cars drive like they are on pillows and the whole feel of the game just isn't battlefield.

BF4 had horrible issues but the game runs great now. It really is a thrill to get a good crew together and roll thru a map in a tank and chopper destroying the other team. For $50 bucks for all the expansions and content it is a much better value and game at this point.

*shrugs* I'm enjoying it, and I'm mostly playing on Hardcore (which they seem to have done correctly this time - no minimap, no ammo counter, no third-person in vehicles, no 3D spotting... but player health is still normal).

Well, FWIW, nobody's buying Battlefield games for the single-player.

yeah but the dog fighting mode was pretty good. im skipping hardline, the demo was fun but i couldn't get into it. if i get bored (just got final fantasy type o hd, dragon age, and have been playing the elder scrolls online beta) then i may borrow my brothers game just for the campaign.

The definitive collection review by someone who has been on board since day one of 1942.

Battlefield 1942: 2002 - my first big PC online mp game (besides CS 1.6). amazing feel, great infantry gameplay mixed with awesome vehicles. Wake Island is still in my dreams every once in a while. Still could baserape with a priest on Tobruk with my eyes closed.
-1942: Road to Rome - decent maps
-1942: Secret Weapons - jetpack kit was so overrated. sniped every fool that rushed for it. those jets with limited fuel were interesting, but ultimately very weak.

^also included hundreds of hours on 1942: desert combat. best mod since counterstrike (at the time). ask anyone who played it back in the early 2ks.

Battlefield Vietnam: 2004 - ooh la la, the m16 and ak make their BF debut. great jungle gameplay. ho chi mihn trail might still be one of the best push style maps ever. the intro trailer almost made me want to join the marines at age 12 (first time hearing CCR). mastered the huey and m14 within days. jet gameplay was a nice touch, but i preferred the helos.

Battlefield 2: 2005 - the single best multiplayer PC game of all time. yes you read that correctly. no this is not CS 1.6, DOOM, W3D, Warcraft, or any of the other major players. this game brought all the best elements of 1942 and BFV up to the modern era, and implemented one of the best squad systems to date. no longer could a single player take over a game, team play was a must. I actually still play this game (online) every once in a while too, thanks to the hard working people who have kept it running (NOT YOU EA).
-BF2: Special Forces - night vision was dope, as was being a SEAL. my first introduction to the SCAR platform. one of the best infantry levels of BF2 was Warlord
-Euro Force - cool FAMAS and HKs, maps very infantry oriented, despite new vehicles
-Armored Fury - BEST EXP PACK EVER. the intro of the little bird helos as well as the a10 really made battlefield 2 what it was supposed to be from the beginning. I actually ran home from school the day it released, something I had never done before.

Battlefield 2142: 2006 - solid followup to BF2. futuristic gameplay with fun floating tanks, etc. Titan gameplay was a very nice touch on the series. buggy at first, but overall a great game.
-BF2142: Northern Strike - added some shiny new weps and the best maps of 2142.

Battlefield Bad Company: 2008 - solid game. the best console version (at the time). fun story line too!

Battlefield Heroes: 2009 - tons of fun. Team Fortress 2 experience, but with a BF feel. oh yeah, free too.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: 2010 - easily the best storyline and singleplayer of any of the games (others had them? lol). also the best console version (just edged out 1943). still a die hard mouse & keyboard fan, though.

Battlefield 3: 2011 - waaaaaaaaaaaay too late. it was always a running joke that BF3 would come out in 2012 (back in 2004) and we weren't far off. very buggy at first (rushed production?). still a decent game. squad play not nearly as strong as BF2, but still present. liked the individual weapon customization, but made me think about my unlocks more than my team. not a fan.

Battlefield 4: 2013 - what is squad play? does anyone care which team wins? how many points till I level up? this honestly was the worst title in the series (haven't tried Hardline yet, but it seems to be a reskinned BF4). thoroughly disappointed in the direction the series has taken over the years. whoever said it was becoming COD was spot on.

Used to love the guys at DICE, but literally everything has gone out the window in the name of profits. hard to blame them in a competitive market, but they have lost thousands of die hard battlefield fans, just to replace them with COD-hoppers. guess that doesn't matter to them as long as the $$ keeps coming. I used to use an old in-game chat system called Xfire, and I remember having at any given time of day probably around 90-100 BF2 friends online. Slowly catching up with all of those guys over the years, not a single one of them plays battlefield anymore. Much like I, they are thoroughly disappointed in the crapshoot that the series has become. Man I miss 2005 and my old rig. Long live BF2.

If anyone is interested, like I said, I still play and would love to show anyone the ropes!
God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Send me pics of your: Colt Detective Special, AMT Hardballer, pre-64 Winchester Model 70. I'm looking for them.

I love bf3 had lots of team work when I started playing moved to bf4 and for some reason no one (not always) ever talks or works as a team. I play on console and have played everything since bf2 on the console. I also played bf heroes, fun little game. I also love the helicopter play but it just seems to get worse as time goes on with the lack of team play.
