We just had an apple engineer help us answer alot of questions, and to have no PC or MAC to activate, and have everything sync up to a private or iCloud service is huge and beneficial. WAIT! you won't regret it, that curve can last you a couple more months, spend some time before you let it go to greener pastures!
Thanks! I'm definitely waiting. Most people are pretty geeked up about it, and most are holding off. It seems like I have a good reason to wait anyway, I was just recently put in charge of information security for my company and I'll need to figure out how to secure those little buggers. I just got an iPad 2 last week for the same purpose, and a MacBook Pro today for my team to test on.

That is just my opinion though.
I'd still wait until September for the announcement on whatever next iPhone is coming out. Why? Because that means the price of the iPhone 4 will drop.

No point buying 4 now, when you can wait 2 months and get it for less, if that's the iPhone you really want.

As for a curved screen, on the next iPhone, I haven't seen anything about that. I've read several articles that the back of the case for the next iPhone is supposed to be tapered (curved or thinner at the bottom than the top) but nothing about the screen.

I'm hearing Sept for a release, also supposed to have a larger screen, faster processor, slimmer profile, and more storage. It should still be a 3G model and unless you got your plan locked up you will have a limited data plan.

If you have AT&T and you don't have a grandfathered unlimited plan there is still a way to get unlimited for a smartphone. You just need to get ahold of a 2G iphone

Considering LTE won't be as available as 3g is now until two more years then its not dumb to get something that isn't LTE compatible. Not everyone lives in a big city that has LTE.

I'd wait for the new iPhone. Keep in mind though that the 4 is at least in my view not as resilient as the 2G; I'd put it on par with the 3GS but neither is a tank by any stretch.

Magpul do make an interesting and inexpensive case for the 4.

LTE is actually spreading pretty fast, it already covers all of Sacramento and has only been announced as available at the airport. Verizon already has it in 147+ locations. And it's not like the phone will not fallback to 3G when there is no 4G service available. So even if there is no 4G in your area it is still worth getting for when you travel around.

Verizon has already said that it won't be until 2013 til LTE has the same coverage as 3g does now.

True, but most people already have coverage (anyone near a reasonably sized city). There's already LTE coverage as far from Sacramento as Placerville, and that isn't a major city.

I live by Santa Cruz so we won't be getting it anytime soon.

I'm also waiting for the 5, but since 2 weeks ago i got a good deal for $200 i grab it right away. A friend of mine got a brand new replacement for her iphone 4 and decided to use her old 2g instead. And cashed the new phone. But i already missed the Flash video app from app store. Its already remove .
