iPhone 5?

I'm sure the iP5 will look somewhat similar in shape.

The Apple 5 was supposed to be released in July, however, with the earthquake and nuclear meltdown, and subsequent issues with power in Japan it has been delayed until at least September.

I understand hardware is the issue. Supply chain has been disrupted and power issued are slowing all manufacturing.

I don't know how much any delay has to do with the earthquakes in Japan, the IPhone is produced in China, hence the news article a couple of months ago that stated a couple of employees were hurt/killed at the IPhone factory in China. Other than that Apple is based in California.


What benefit would there be to having a curved scren? That Samsung phone just looks thicker and therefore harder to put in my pocket, I would love it if the IPhone 5 had a flat screen and it was wafer thin.

I would get the iphone 4 now since there wont be a HUGE difference in the iphone 4 and whatever they come out with next as compared to the difference between the blackberry and the iphone 4. You will be happy with the iphone 4 and it will be compatible with the new ios5 that they are going to come out with, I know because my friend has ios 5 on his iphone and he loves it. That is just my opinion though.

I wouldn't hold my breath expecting the next iPhone to have LTE. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Calling it dumb is dumb. LTE isn't as widely available yet and isn't much of a big deal anyway. If you still use 3g for another 2 years, I say you're not missing out on too much.

Verizon's 4G LTE smokes. Huge improvement over 3G. I can't imagine going back to a non 4G device.

If Apple doesn't include an LTE radio they are going to be behind, from a network perspective, for another year, which is a huge amount of time in the wireless industry.

even including ATTs "4g" would be better then releasing another HSPA only phone.

Look how long it took them to get a 3g phone. The batteries haven't caught up with 4g yet and you know Jobs wont release a phone with crappy battery life. I wouldn't expect the new iphone to have 4g yet. I live on the coast and we don't have 4g and wont until at best next year so 4g isn't that big of a deal to me yet.

steadyrock, i'm a mobile communications engineer here out in LA and I would say wait. We too are getting our people upgraded soon, although we're still offering BlackBerry's (even though it's a sinking ship) , we decided that the best time (and platform) would be the iPhone 5 with IOS5 and newer features. We just had an apple engineer help us answer alot of questions, and to have no PC or MAC to activate, and have everything sync up to a private or iCloud service is huge and beneficial. WAIT! you won't regret it, that curve can last you a couple more months, spend some time before you let it go to greener pastures!

Ios 5 will be work on the iphone 4 as well, my buddy is running it on his right now and it works great.

Where I live their is an LTE tower about 2 miles from my house, surfing the web when I have down time is awesome with the speeds that LTE gives. So I stand by my statement that getting a new device that isn't LTE compatible is dumb.
