    iPhone 5?

My company is in the process of upgrading from Blackberries to iPhones. IT's about time, my Blackberry Curve is old enough to get a driver's license.

My question is, should I get an iPhone 4 now, or wait until the 5 comes out? When is the 5 due out, anyway? What advantages does it promise over the 4? I can wait it out with my Blackberry if the iPhone 5 is coming reasonably soon and offers some big improvements over the current model. Advice?

iPhone 5 hasn't even been announced yet.

There's speculation that it'll be released in September, but there hasn't been anything even remotely approaching official word of this.

I've got the 4 (upgraded last summer from a 3G). It's great. I love it.

Word is that there will be a 4GS before any iPhone 5 (which would most likely be a complete overhaul and redesign of the phone).

Granted there is talk about a dual processer in the 4GS, but the case & housing will still be the same as the current 4G. It would be foolish of Apple to abandon the 4G housing/frame/look after just having it out on the market for a year (the 2G/3G/3GS models were out for a good 3-4 years).

IMO, if you have the iPhone 4 now, I would just stick with it... unless you really have to have the 4GS. If you're looking to upgrade to an iPhone, you can wait for the 4GS which is likely to come out anytime from Sept - Jan, or just get the iPhone 4 now and be happy with that. Most likely if you wait until the 4GS comes out and you get the 4G, it'll probably be $100 cheaper (like the way Apple does it every year with their phones).

iPhone 5 is being intentionally delayed to assist Verizon who only recently added the brand spankin' new (to Verizon) iPhone4.

I'm in a similar boat. My AT&T contract just expired so I can upgrade my iPhone 3g. Hard part is figuring out should I switch to Verizon or not and if I should wait for the "new" iPhone to come out. AT&T has been crappy but Verizon looks to be more costly.

I find its hard to walk away from AT&T since I have the unlimited data package......its a pretty good deal these days.

Why would he get a two year old phone!? (not to mention your post has nothing to do with the subject at hand: iPhone 5)

How is the Droid a better phone than a phone that has not even been announced yet?

Oh, you are comparing the Droid to the iPhone 4. Ok.

What the iPhone has over the Droid.

                    Almost twice the processor
                    Twice the RAM
                    Twice the cameras
                    Better screen resolution

What the Droid has over the iPhone 4.

Same here. Bought the 3G towards the end of the time when they still offered the unlimited data plan, kept it. I use it a lot. I'd probably wind up having a 2-3000 dollar phone bill every month otherwise.

Wait for the 5. You'll kick yourself in a few months if you get a 4 now.
