Anyone getting the Samsung Galaxy s8?

Applied for the deal day 1. Finally got my email yesterday with link to purchase and was able to place my order.

Same time frames as you. There are a lot of unhappy people due to glitches on the website or Samsung app that were not able to get their orders in before they ran out. I couldn't care less about the VR gear but the SD card and AKG Y50BT head set was a smoking deal for $99.

My T-Mobile S8 came last Wednesday and I placed my order for the Gear VR, 256GB memory card, and headphones via the app on Wednesday evening. Their website was down or too slammed to log in but the app worked fine.

So far I'm liking the S8 a lot. I held the Plus and it was just too big for front pocket carry.

I also bought the official S-View Flip Cover, and while it's way over-priced, it's also well designed, folds into a stand, and is sufficiently protective. If I needed a bit more protection I'd have gone with an Otterbox Strata.

I've got an S4 that works fine, but I would like a better camera...once all you tech geeks test the thing out, I'll likely buy an S8 this summer/fall.

Using the Note 5 I bought in late 2015.

I will upgrade only when a new version upgrades performance.

More important to me would be an improved radio and receiver which will improve reception in fringe areas with low signal.

Cellular technology in these areas seems to be stagnant.

I purchased a Note 4 in early 2015. This phone has been fantastic and 2 years later still runs like new so I will keep using it until it gets slow or dies.
Prior to this, I had a Samsung S6 and before than I had an Iphone 4S. The wifi on the iPhone 4S at the 2 year mark died and that pissed me off enough for me to move on to Samsung/Droid.

Got my VR experience package yesterday. It was nicely boxed in a black Samsung gift box type packaging. It included the VR headset and controller, 256GB memory card, and AKG wireless over-the-ear headset. Not bad for $99. I'll probably never use the headset but the memory card alone costs more than $99. It seemed like I received it in record time as well since I usually have to wait several weeks for these offers.
