Anyone getting the Samsung Galaxy s8?

I've had the s6 for almost 2 years now, the battery kinda sucks always feel like I'm plugging the phone in. So I preordered the new S8 just after midnight last night, time for a new phone I think. Looked at phones in December but decided to wait, the iPhone 7 sure looked nice and I almost picked one up but decided to wait. I preordered the s8 last night and one of the pets was the free Gear VR which honestly I could care less about but hey of its free why not and the fact of I trade in my phone I get the s8 for $15/month. I'm currently paying $29.xx/month for my s6 so the fact that I'm paying almost $15 less a month for my phone is a win win to me. Not sure how I'm being a new $840 phone for $15/month for the next 2 years but that's part of the promotional offer.

All in all I paid $50 tax on the new s8 and then half of what I'm paying each month for my old s6, and I gotta trade in my old s6 that I'm using now.

So anyone else thinking of trading up to the new s8?

I have the S7 Edge... been nice but the battery was lacking after 1.5 years. I just got an update to nougat 7.0 and now my battery has last almost twice as long. If the S8 is running the new 7.0 software, you'll like it once you've navigated it for a few days.

I've been considering a new Galaxy for a while now. I'll keep using my S3 until I hear enough good reviews about the S8.

I'm more interested in what the iPhone 8 ends up looking like. At this point though, since phone co subsidies have gone away, I'm really more interested in lightly used current model phones, not the next best....

So I guess I'm really interested in the iPhone 7, towards the end of this year...

I wanted the bigger screen and the s8+ should deliver, I'm assuming the battery will be better than my s6 to boot. If my s6 didn't have such crappy battery life I might have stuck with it but I'm kinda a tech guy so I'm ready for the next "new model". I think the iPhone 7plus is really nice but I don't want an old model and the iPhone 8 or whatever is coming out this fall and I'm just not ready to wait all year for that. Plus I get a free Gear VR and $15/month for the s8, yes please.

I'm considering the S8 but will wait for positive reviews. Don't really need it though since my S3 still works great.

S5 is my first smartphone and will stay that way until there is a new one with memory card slot, water resistant (IP67), wireless charging and use replaceable battery.
