I'd also say its not worth it, the minor differences you'd see in physics in certain games doesn't make up for the electricity used. Since you already have both cards, pop them both in and see for yourself.

Got a tax refund and briefly thought about building a new system. I build on a test bench with all new parts except power supply then empty the current case and install the new stuff. That whole process is fun.

What is giving me pause is the installation of Win 7, VS 2013, SQL Server 2008, Office 2013. Other than Win 7 they are MSDN copies and I worry about the s/n clearing registration. And oy vey, all the software I would have to install again!

Should arrive by Wednesday. I'll see if I can do a benchmark.

Built my budget rig last October and it has handled everything beautifully.

            CPU: i5 4690k @ 3.5Ghz (for now, don't need the bump)
            cooler: Cryorig H7
            Mobo: ASRock Z97 LGA1150
            Mem: 2x 8GB DDR3-1600
            Drives: Sandisk 240GB SSD + 2x WD 1TB HDDs
            GPU: (DON'T LAUGH) PNY 750 Ti 2gb
Case: Ultra Rogue M925 Full ATX
            PSU: EVGA G2 650W 80+ Gold full-mod
            Monitor: Acer 23" 60Hz
Key: CM Storm QuickFire TK (reds)
            Mouse: Logitech G502
            Case fan: CM Megaflow 200mm

In total, parts came to around ~$700 after rebates and taxes. Held out on a vid card because I'll grab a 480 soon enough. No need to upgrade at this time because I've mostly been playing Insurgency (source eng) and BF2 (yes, you read that right, community is still going strong).
God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Send me pics of your: Colt Detective Special, AMT Hardballer, pre-64 Winchester Model 70. I'm looking for them.

And here I am casually playing CS:GO once in a blue moon on my ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 3 with integrated graphics and 14" screen.

It gets the job done though. I don't measure the FPS, but I do get smooth gameplay at native 1440p resolution, and still put a whoopin' on kids. Next time I decide to play, I'll post a screenshot of the scoreboard and see if anyone wants to have a go.

Maybe one of these days I'll build a custom PC, but I keep prioritizing guns and gun stuff over a new computer.
