Bolt it to the floor and patch it when you leave. Not a big deal. Just make sure you don't have some sort of post-tensioned slab. Rumor has it that you could weaken the slab and possibly cause cracking if you hit one of the tensioning cables.

LOL!!!!! Seen some things in rentals and foreclosures.... a few holes in the garage is nothing at all.... as long as it isnt post tension. Even if it is post tension, as long as they didnt accidentally find a cable..... who cares.

Ask the landlord if you can bolt something else down....like a work bench or vise stand or something. That will let you know if there is a problem drilling the floor or not.

So....I have an idea....lemme see if I can describe it.

Build two L shaped frames out of heavy C-channel steel. The safe would sit on those L frames. Short leg under the safe (with C facing down), with long legs going up the back ( C facing out). Drill holes for bolts in bottom legs to match holes in bottom of safe. Tack weld nuts on bottom side of C channel to hold nuts in place so bolts can be threaded down from inside safe.

Drill holes in upright legs and lag bolt the L-frames to the wall studs in 3-4 places vertically in both legs. Then set safe in place and bolt down to bottom channels.

This way all mounting bolts are either inside or behind the safe, and you don't have to drill into the floor.

          Make sense?

ETA: If you have exposed studs in the garage you could even put some tabs off the back channels to allow you to lag bolt not only straight into the studs, but also thru the sides. Short of actually breaking the studs, that thing wouldn't go anywhere!
