It's going to be in the garage. I'm leaning towards bolting it to the concrete with the screw type anchors and patching the holes later. Thanks again for all the advice.

OP, easy solution, place couple 50lbs or more weight iron plate inside your safe.

Get some fire clay if that's your concern. It comes mixed, in a powder form, or in a caulk. Put some between the safe and the wall at the bolting points. Then put some in the holes in the safe so it seals / compacts as you tighten it. You can use it to patch a bolt hole in a fire safe too.

just drill anyway. What they don't know won't hurt.

Bolt it to the ceiling studs - A little toothpaste and spackle - Nobody will look up anyway...

Drill away Brother, I doubt your landlord will ever notice the holes after you leave.

And you can fill them in with masonry epoxy if you move.

Wedge anchors are what you want. Drill a half inch further than the anchors length.

You can use one of this! I use this for my safe, stainless steel 1/2" anchor bolts.

Forget about any silicone or epoxies. That's a waste of time. You would be better off drilling into the concrete and then patching the small holes when you move.

                          Good luck.
Yea this is very true. Glenn Beck(don't care if you like him or not) told story how someone in his affluent neighborhood in Texas had LARGE safe stolen that was bolted to the ground! Thieves were obviously pros but if thief wants your safe they'll find a way to crack it or take it! Best bet is to drill it into ground. Contractors weigh in would it be difficult to fill in the concrete holes? Would it compromise the pad?

I have no clue. I don't even know what that is, so I'll be googling it. Is there anything I should be worried about?

I have heard a guy bolted his safe to a hefty steel plate that made the whole thing too big to go through the doors of his apartment, so the bad guys couldn't move the safe out of the building without knocking down every door it passed.

I haven't heard anything about his safe being stolen yet, so I guess so far so good...
