I carry a handgun most of my adult life and started shooting as a kid. Collecting came later in life. I mostly collect what I carry and shoot.

Why not? Why not like guns?
We like motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, steam engines, trains, lathes, saws, tools of all kinds, and just about any other thing metal, mechanical, or moving.
So why not guns.

Fun, fun, fun to shoot various guns

Guns can be an Art Form. I appreciate the look and mechanical aspects of some guns.

Guns can keep you safe in a hard, harsh world.

Victim or gun owner, your choice.

Lots of great responses here! Me, as a kid.. Tanks were awesome and the guys inside had cool implements of war as well.. WW2 started my obsession er.. my hobby... As an adult, wanting to stay a free man just stoked the collection fire...

Because exercise it good. With rights it's great.

Because I love owning, shooting, and hunting.

Why do people like golf? Why do people like baseball? Why do people like tuning/restoring cars??

I personally fell in love the the mechanics and customization/personalization of side of it. I love having the feeling of owning/buying/building my own preferred versions of the military's weapons, US or forign, new or old. M40a3, M4, 1911. All the same people love to have track cars like the pros, foreign and domestic, Euro and JDM.

Same concept applies.

Started with an interest in history I could hold.

Next came realization I needed to protect me and my wife.

Then my need for anything mechanical along with the above mentioned reasons mixed with an understanding these are my God given rights and I need to exercise them.

Lastly it's just a lot of fun shooting and cleaning guns!
