There are many reasons why we like guns the list can go on and on. I will make this simple "We have the rights to bear arms under our second amendment".

We the people need to fight for our born giving rights from tyranny. "Freedom"

If you don't know what your rights are. You don't have any rights

If you don't exercise your rights you have no rights.


The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I use to classify myself as a Democrat... yes I even voted for Bamatard during his first election. I'm now 24 and recently joined the working class 1 year ago full time since graduating from my university, since then I've come to realize how rediculous, ignorant and destructive libtard thinking is. Not to mention, during the 2nd term elections when Ron Paul was running, I started listening to his speeches... I realized something. Instead of promising false hope he was making points that ACTUALLY made sense! Who would have thought?!

Since then I've firmly changed my views and it all makes sense to me now like clear as day. Well I've never been opposed to guns but I decided the important role they play in keeping this a free country and I had a fascination for them which I decided to itch one day (4 months ago).... it's now become a small collection of firearms.

That's my small & short story.

I'll be honest, because I enjoy talking about them while I hang out at the mall. And its part of my redneck upbringing.... The real reason is I am proud to live in this free country and embrace the freedoms my forfathers fought and died for....

I am the 52yr old version of you sir! You just realized it much earlier than me. I was 48, Life Long Democrat, Gun indifferent, and just going about my Life in Suburbia.

Starting Prepping 5 yrs ago and got somewhat serious 3 yrs ago. Realized I need to protect my family and home in the event of something unthinkable, so bough my first firearm.

Fast forward 4 years and now I have a modest collection. Mostly purpose guns nothing to fancy and no collectables. For me a gun is like a hammer or other tool. I don't drool or tinker over them. Just practice, clean and put away I hopes I never have to use them for the purpose in which I bought them.

I joined the Army in 2011 and still had no real understanding of our rights or of firearms. After coming home from my deployment though and being tired of having my rights dictated to me by Uncle Sam and jackass NCOs and officers I started to think about how a man should actually live his life, and who should have the right and responsibility to tell me what to do. I quickly came to the conclusion that only a gov that I had a say in, should I recognize. I dont really feel that I have a say in our current state of gov so I stopped caring about laws (that I found unconstitutional) around that point. Im not saying go and start breaking laws, just be more conscious of why you obey them and if you disagree with them, fight them any way you can. Call your congressman, volunteer at grassroots functions, educate your friends and neighbors...etc. And most importantly, educate yourself.


In my own education I came to find guns are the most important tools of a free people, so I started buying guns. I quickly found that some guns (Remingtons for example) are complete POSs. In order to avoid buying more trash, I started doing research and found www.ar15.com. (I was still stationed in Texas at this point so I found it a useful site).

From there, I started to learn about new weapon systems and concepts (1911's, SAO sigs, glocks, AKs{my favorite}, Mossberg shotguns, CCW, reloading, hunting, SHTF/prepping...etc) and the rest is history.

Thank you guys, Good to see I'm not alone in seeing the light. It seems important that people question their beliefs at some point in their life instead of following some one elses with your eyes closed just because you were told to at a young age.

If I wasn't the type to question everything I'm told for myself, I probably would have never made the switch to the correct side of the spectrum.

Anyway, I try to do my part in dropping subtle hints to my lib friends to maybe one day show them what they are missing out on. Defiently don't want to take the "in your face" approach liberals use.

I simply enjoy doing anything legal that the state of Commifornia frowns upon such as riding motorcycles, modding cars, smoking, owning enough pew pew toys to become "Newsworthy" if the situation ever arises etc.

I enjoy going to the range and trying to make myself a better shooter. Much like I enjoy playing golf. It's an individual test of skill. I don't have to be the best golfer and shoot in the 70's to enjoy it just like I don't have to be able to shoot a smiley face in a paper plate from 60 feet to feel like I am improving and challenging myself. Every once in a while you crush a 3 wood and it feels just perfect and once in a while you shoot exactly what you were aiming at and it feels great.

I also enjoy talking to a lot of the old farts at the range and sharing stories.

Self defense is a big reason (although unlikely to ever need a gun for self defense). Better to have on and not need it.

Mostly, they are just cool. My pistol looks cool and is a lot of fun to shoot.

I had good school teachers in the early 60's in New England. They instilled pride of country in their students.

We took class trips to Boston, Lexington, Concord. We saw Lexington Green, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church, Plymouth Rock, Bunker Hill and learned about the history of the revolution.

We were taught the differences between a communist Russia and a free America.

The firearm was at the forefront in all of this.

I had rifles at a very young age and spent a lot of Saturdays with my friend Raymond hunting rabbits, squirrel, and pheasant down by the river.

In junior high school I made a rifle rack for my bedroom wall in wood shop.

Yup, they actually let young teenagers use sharp instruments in school to make gun related items.

For me, freedom seeking men and guns made this country and I will always defend that right.

I love pulling apart guns designed by the likes of John Browning, Eugene Stoner and Mikhail Kalashnikov among others and see how different men went about different ways to expel a projectile. The 1919a4 just blows my mind.

The ergonomics Stoner incorporated in the AR in such a small package amazes me. My first prototype would have been as big as a fridge.

The rest is just the fascination and excitement all men get when things go boom.
