They must have changed something recently because just last week I had 2 separate shipments held as soon as I got tracking numbers.

To reroute UPS packages as the receiver, you need a UPS account. OR... the type of shipment dictates if you're able to do that or not. Sometimes it lets you, sometimes it doesn't. For FedEx, you need to wait until they make a first delivery attempt. It's been like that for at least two years—in my city at least (SF). I know this because 1) I asked. And 2) I've attempted to have a shipment held at a FedEx location while the package is in transit. And they've attempted delivery anyway. Then the next day, they bring it to a FedEx location. I got pissed off because it added an extra day to my delivery and then I confronted FedEx about it. And that's what they said.

With UPS, typically, if you click the "change delivery address" button the option for "hold at UPS facility for pickup" is usually either grayed out or it prompts you to sign up/log in to a UPS account in order to do it.

So, sign up. A myups account is free. Granted, it was designed by monkeys and can be infuriating to figure out how to do simple things, but it has always worked for me.

What good is a threat with no teeth? Call the ATF, they'll ask for a serial number, C'mon guys. OP, sorry it's not there, hope it shows up. Maybe a lazy neighbor grabbed it & will walk it over. Don't bother with the ATF it's useless.

Packages go missing, usually temporarily, all the time.

ATF doesn't get into missing packages as far as I know, since no federal laws have been violated...at least from what we know now.

I was once involved in a trade for a DSA FAL (mine) for a PolyTech M14 (other guy's).

I shipped the FAL via Fed-Ex, but I was stupid and didn't verify the ship-to address on the receipt the Fed-Ex lady handed me. Turns out she transposed a couple of numbers on the destination zip code and sent the FAL to someplace in Florida v. the correct address in Louisiana.

Fed-Ex tried to stop the shipment when it hit SLC, could not do it. Same when it got to DFW. I called Fed-Ex in Florida. Station manager found the package and got it shipped to Louisiana without issue and it came in a day late. I got my shipping charge refunded.

The M14 got to Idaho, but was delivered (I still don't understand why) to my local Idaho National Guard recruiting office.

NG staff sergeant called me, I picked up the weapon, and drove it down 2 blocks to my FFL/pawnbroker.

Strange crap happens, and I hope you find your gun.

If USPS its ultimately because postal management is the worst of the worst of bureaucratic retards. Think of a group of monkeys trying to inseminate a doorknob.

The "out for delivery" was IIRC Fed Ex.

Say what you will but I have never had anything lost in the Mail.

Ok, so I got ahold of someone at UPS. They got ahold of the local supervisor. And he called me. While I was on the phone with him, he said he would track down the driver and get him to "retrace his steps" to see where he left the package. As he was on the phone with me, I saw the UPS truck drive by. So I ran out and flagged the driver down.

The driver came up to my front porch and said he "thought" he left the package right there, behind a column on my porch. "But wait," I said, "someone signed for it. If someone signed for it, then why would you leave it on my porch?" So he thinks for a moment and then runs on down the block (I live in a city). 5 minutes later he comes back with my package.

He delivered it to the grocery store a block away...

So, my upper is safe and sound. Driver made an honest mistake. Package was probably lumped together with a bunch of other deliveries for the store.

That's impossible they have GPS.

I have many items show delivered, usps, or ups but of course not here
and I got a private porch away from the street
But when I call and tell them I have cameras all over the house and one on the porch showing no one delivered I get very fast service
Especially if I was home that day too, no way they could sneak up and drop off something my dog barks when they are a block away

The USPS lost my COLT 6920 Socom upper a few weeks ago. Still haven't heard from the mail recovery center since the 9th...

I bet you the USPS also "lost" my latest shipment of a COLT LE6920 upper as well...

If the driver at that time was a cover driver, there is a possibility that it got delivered in a different street with the same house# as yours...

Glad you got your package OP. Knock on wood, never a problem here. Worse was a case of ammo torn up.

It's funny because I order a box of Sportsmanguide, and they have horrible reviews on ammo being loose, and falling all over the place within the box. After I read this, two days later, I got my package, and the ammo was all loose, it was like WTF... It's not the UPS, it was their shop, I hope they fix this problem, along with their numerous advertisement. I actually got a free bottle of 5 hour energy too, WTH?

I am having stuff shipped by the U.S. post office when it does not involve liquids, explosives, etc. UPS has given sellers to me nothing but grabage all up and down the state and the post office has been great so far. They just ask that you do not label it "gun" on the outside of the package and no packages have ever been lost. if they do a random check and it does not have prohibitive items they let it go through no problem. My postman has been good adn I let him know a package is coming and he is always on the lookout for it.
