    UPS Lost Rifle

Well, not a rifle per se. But the upper of my AR15 that was shipped back to me from the manufacturer.

Tracking shows it was delivered today at 1:09 PM. It was signed by "TOM." Nobody by that name lives here. I get home from work at 1:59. I ask my roommate if a package came. Nope. I ask my neighbors (who have signed for packages in the past). Nope. Nobody by the name "Tom" lives near me.

I call UPS. They claim it was delivered to my exact address and signed by "TOM."

    So... what now?

I wish I could get ahold of the driver and ask him where exactly he delivered this thing.

Call UPS and tell them you are calling the BATF next.

They have to show your signature. If it's not yours, they will have to pay.
You can also call the ATF.

Makes you wonder if it was an accidental miss delivery or if the driver is working the system. Most of the time I think it's just incompetence but you never know.

I ran into their incompetence just yesterday myself. I was expecting a delivery from them with signature required. I made sure I was home and I spent the afternoon doing some electrical outlet work with power off to the entire house. Next thing I know, I have a text update stating that delivery was attempted and they would try again the next day.

Now I live in a single story 1000 sq foot house and the power was off, so it literally could not have been quieter. The only way the driver could have knocked and I missed it was if he knocked with his tongue. What a joke. Today, the front door is open and I have a sign up telling the driver that I am home just in case the front door isn't enough of a clue.

Anyway, best of luck getting your upper sorted out.

You should amend your post to reflect what you lost. No rifle involved here.

Call UPS asap and ask them which driver was scheduled during the time/location of delivery. Then ask them to speak with the driver and be sure to remind them that a lost firearm (lost by UPS) is no joking matter.

Whenever you have a significant delivery coming, always arrange to have it held for pickup at the closest sort facility, which you can easily do this online. Then you pick it up yourself and avoid all these possible headaches.

Probably delivered to a wrong address. Same house number but the next street over or same street but the driver delivered it to 2341 when it should have been 2431.

If your lucky the person who got Will get it to you. The driver is not going to admit he screwed up, he may not even know. The fact it was delivered and signed for is going to make it tough to get UPS to do anything about it.

No matter what, always pay with a credit card and insure everything for replacement cost.

UPS can tell exactly where the package was delivered ... They have GPS on their hand helds...They can take a screen shot off the computer and see it...

Its not a fire arm..its an upper...

But still a good suggestion...... US will file a follow up report so the driver will also follow up and confirm where he delivered it....
