This isn't foolproof either. Ordered a set of tires went online to have them hold them at the main place in Baldwin Park. They called said they were there. Nope can't find em. Ooops they went to the UPS store in West Covina. Go there Oooops only two are there. The other two were put on the truck for delivery. They didn't show up either. Next day get a call they are in West Covina.
    Useless Package System
Also read in the paper last week a UPS guy was arrested for stealing guns from shippments. Wouldn't doubt there are two bad eggs in the basket.

But at least they cannot claim it was ever delivered to you.

But still a good suggestion...... US will file a follow up report so the driver will also follow up and confirm where he delivered it....
It's UPS we're talking about. My local UPS seems to hate firearms (or firearm related items). When I told them I was shipping a handgun to the manufacturer (done properly via a shipping label sent to me directly from the manufacturer, and packaged exactly as described), they freaked out. "Is it unloaded? Is there ammo in the magazines? How about the chamber? In the barrel" In the box?" etc...I'm not sure if that mindset is universal across all UPS branches, but it wouldn't hurt to scare them a bit.

I am in the "threaten to notify the ATF" boat. Tell them it is an AR15 upper reciever that only needs a couple of parts to become a firearm.and it is no ordinary package.
As another poster stated, they can go back and see exactly where and when they delivered it.

They lost my MacBooks and iPads few times. And it was purchased from Apple. They lost the lower receiver once shipped from city arms. Duhhh. They found it 2 weeks later after a complaint to CA DOJ. But most of the times I get what I order. Go figure.

Ok, so I got ahold of someone at UPS. They got ahold of the local supervisor. And he called me. While I was on the phone with him, he said he would track down the driver and get him to "retrace his steps" to see where he left the package. As he was on the phone with me, I saw the UPS truck drive by. So I ran out and flagged the driver down.

The driver came up to my front porch and said he "thought" he left the package right there, behind a column on my porch. "But wait," I said, "someone signed for it. If someone signed for it, then why would you leave it on my porch?" So he thinks for a moment and then runs on down the block (I live in a city). 5 minutes later he comes back with my package.

He delivered it to the grocery store a block away...

So, my upper is safe and sound. Driver made an honest mistake. Package was probably lumped together with a bunch of other deliveries for the store.

Driver went and got it out of his car or house more likely.

"Hold for pickup." Those three little words will save you countless headaches with UPS and FedEx. Yeah, stuff still gets misplaced and rerouted through Kenya but sooooooo much better than praying its on the porch when you get home.

Did he leave it in the fishy department?

I purchased a quantity of bullets from a manufacturer last year, and they never arrived. They were sent USPS Priority Mail. I had a ridiculous run-around, waited several days more, and finally contacted the supplier. He told me he has had SEVERAL batches "lost by the Postal Service". He apologized, gave me a large discount and sent another batch.

And what does OP have to lose by trying? Better to lose a few minutes (well hours since its UPS) of time, and possibly get his upper back, than to not try at all.

Edit: Just noticed that OP got his package. Glad it all worked out.
