Just had another good turner's experience at the San Marcos store. Went in to check out their p64s and the sales guy brought all the ones out so I could pick the best one to my liking.

Just wish they got these in a few weeks ago. Got a "very nice" handpicked option from aim a month ago and got burned. Barrel looks like it was the qualifying pistol at the range with decent holster wear.

The one I picked out today at turners looks unissued. For the same price but cheaper without the transfer fees.

It seems irresponsible to me for them to turn you away without bringing LEO into the equation knowing that you could go to another store that day and attempt the same thing.
Because the police would show up an hour later. No I am not kidding, the gun store I worked at had a malfunctioning silent alarm and during business hours it took LEOs about 1-1.5 hours to show up. We've also had silent alarms go off at night, manager responds to the alarm alone. Once he got there and an LEO was out front. LEO would not enter the stop with my manager, manager checked out the alarm himself.

Even if LE could response in a reasonable amount of time, they can't (or don't) really do anything except force the people to leave the store. Firstly, (unless someone admits to it) it is terribly hard to prove someone is intending to commit a straw sale, strictly speaking straw sales aren't illegal but lying on the government documents is. I've sold thousands of guns, straws sales are one of those things were the true number will never be known and there is a blurry line between straws/gifts/etc. Of course there are plenty of people who are suspected of straws who are turned away, more are not simply because many dealers believe that a suspicion isn't enough and separating the two parties and asking them is enough. I've separated plenty of people and asked them if they are prohibited and the other person if the gun is actually for them. The straws are usually less honest than the prohibited people believe it or not. But returning to my point, the government doesn't prosecute prohibited people who try to buy guns and get denied. What makes you think they will investigate suspected prohibited people before they've even been denied.

It truly does put an FFL in a tough spot. If it was my store, if I suspected a straw for any reason I'd kick their @** out.... then of course they'd inevitably go on calguns to whine about how poorly they were treated.

PPT at turners your looking at 1.5 to 2 hours to jail the gun and 45 min to an hour when you pick it up.

Yup, from my experience totally true. PPT anywhere else but Turners.

The famous "handling fee" as they call it.

Same experience as well. Definite hit or miss, it just all depends who is working that day.

Ya I'm sure in a lot of situations (at least in LA) cops wouldn't even bother showing up. However, a brother being present with his sister buying a firearm should never be an indicator of a straw purchase. You've never helped a female relative / friend with a car purchase? Same thing, you might not be an expert but they trust you and your presence adds a level of comfort for them when dealing with foreign subjects.

Hey OP, no need to get so worked up because a couple of people want to mess with you. More people posted supporting you than the reverse.

It sounds like they handle it poorly. Even if you were a straw, there's a more professional way to do it.

            Hoping Turner's will respond.

I got called on at a store because I look suspicious, and they thought I was going to steal something. I had $800 bucks in new hundreds in my pocket, and showed it to rent a cop with the batman belt flexing, and I proclaimed out loud "You look like a pedophile!" so loud the whole store can hear, and the person was stomp off stupid, and the customers in the store looked at him with more suspicion. I bought my energy drink and sushi, and moved on, all this drama for $8.63 cents. It made my day though, now people probably look at him strange, or with reasonable suspicion. By the way I find out a few months later he got fired for harassing so many patrons, there goes his batman belt, and future jobs.... Trust me, you'll win in the end, in life, because people like that are pathetic till they die... Just live life, and smile on =). I myself just bought a Doberman yesterday, as my Dumb Question thread went overboard, and the moderator told me to buy a yapper. I got a black/tan pup, and she's going to be near my shower, and yes, I vacuum sealed my Colt if any of you are curious from the other thread...

You should give that a try next time, and I'm not kidding either.. Also all corporate, if your a returning customer that is definitely not right.

If you get called out for something, your abiding all the laws to the max, and get disrespected, you gotta play their games but take it ten steps further within a legal reasonable manner, or they'll just think your a coon. I agree with the gentleman earlier, I deal with the FFL who lives in the garage, it's much more peaceful/friendlier. In fact he'll probably bust out his new build and show you what's really up.... The last time I went he showed me his Springfield .308 with a stock heatguard/stock wood and I just drooled. I wish I had $1700 for that, he now uses it as his main for boar hunting. I notice LGS treat their patrons like coons anyway. Last time I went to the range, they check my serial # on my 500, which is in my opinion is discrimination. They might as well check the UPC also....

LGS retail their stuff at MSRP or above MSRP, the trick is to find yourself a local FFL with brains, hop on SLICKGUNS/GUNWATCHER/WIKIARMS, and you'll save 25%-40% on deals. I just picked up a Brand New SP-01 .40 for $599 =) (don't laugh, I needed a new platform, and I know the 9mm, is more suitable/functional, hopefully the steel will help with the recoil!). Of course it's going to turn out to be $730 after transfer fee's + DROS. Now to save for a P226 MK25-CA so I can take it in the shower (referring to my Dumb Question thread where I got trolled hard, and deleted by moderators upon request). I'm not tripping over December SSE as the MK25 CA compliant version expires on 9/05/2015. I might just skip December SSE, shrugs, maybe browse the commercial sales here, we'll see.... Enough about my rant, OP stay positive, call corporate, complain the facts, and show them your previous orders, maybe they'll give you a coupon code for your new unit or a couple of boxes of ammo to keep you coming back.. But after this, I really suggest you find a local FFL you can trust, and just order through those links I suggested or the commercial sales here (may I suggest Phil! ) It saves you money, and you don't need to deal with the guy behind the counter that thinks he knows everything about guns... If anything I go to LGS to window shop and window shop only, and pretend I own some units for a few minutes, LOL... The last one I owned for a few mins was a 98% Colt 1903 .32 ACP, they were asking $4,400...... I asked if I can pet it, and they let me, so yeah, that was pretty fun =)

I need to shower now. For that previous thread that upsetted a lot of people, I'll man up and apologize. I will take all your information, negative comments, and troll comments seriously. You guys have train me well, and I am thankful for that.

So is that what you decided to do? Well, whatever makes you feel safe and protected from shower rapists I suppose.

I should call more people pedophiles in public. I figure if I can call them a pedophile first then that ruins their credibility and nothing they call me will ever really stack up to that.

Yes! I think a spear-gun is unethical, cruel and unusual. I also don't have an AR-15 with a scrub attached to it either, mine is all taken apart for cleaning & complying with all the laws Senator LeLand Yee hooked us up with. I also don't have a Glock 17 because I'm not a polymer fan (please don't troll me on this, pretty please), or a P226 MK25 yet (hopefully December SSE) or by 9/05/2015 for the CA compliant version. Black Friday is coming, I think I might sit and wait for coupons or for some super special on something, who know's, I'll wait for the ads, and be patient this time even though time is running out for December SSE. I'll PM you maybe you have some suggestions for me, and if I ever jettison anything, I'll let you know first hand <3

3 posts and he writes a rambling one sided novel on turners.

We've all been there with a Turners bad adventure, but I'd take this wild ars story with a grain of salt.

There are three sides to every story. His side, the stores side, and the truth.
