I've bought from Turners in Pasadena and had nothing but friendly, helpful service. I've also come in several times to ask questions, and didn't buy anything, and again they were very willing to answer questions in a friendly manner. Obviously, Jennifer took what you said to be suspicious (perhaps a straw purchase?), and they did not want to deal with that. However, the way they handled this situation sounds very heavy handed. Like others, I'd be interested in what the corporate folks have to say. Please post when you hear from them.

Same thing, you might not be an expert but they trust you and your presence adds a level of comfort for them when dealing with foreign subjects.
My radar could absolutely go up when a man and women enter the store together. More often than not. Some guys are smart enough to send their women in and telling them exactly what to do. Those guys are hard to catch. It is the guys who come in with women, talk guns, touch guns and suddenly when its paperwork time the women's ID comes out. And she doesn't care about guns at all, doesn't even touch 'em. In my experience, more family members do straw sales than non family members. I am pretty sure we had some recently of older sisters buying handguns for 18-20yr old brothers. I just read in another thread a guy convinced his female friend whos never owned a gun before to get a J frame 357, if I was the salesman I'd be suspicious. I wouldn't hold up the sale, but I'd be suspicious. A 357 J frame for a first handgun is unusual, for a female with her male friend shoots up red flags to me.

That is what the salesman is there for, to help. 3rd party people like a proper instructor is usually better for advice and training, family members get emotional. Despite what people here think about salesman, compared to what I've heard on the counter we DO know more.

Just wish they got these in a few weeks ago. Got a "very nice" handpicked option from aim a month ago and got burned. Barrel looks like it was the qualifying pistol at the range with decent holster wear.

The one I picked out today at turners looks unissued. For the same price but cheaper without the transfer fees.
I was there today. I checked out that specific pistol. The trigger was almost unuseable in double action.

Single action was fine, but seriously. It was almost impossible to break the sear on double action. I had to squeeze the crap out of it.
If they have decent ones, I would seriously consider one, but what I felt today sucked.

Did you find one that had a decent double action trigger? If so, please post up because I kind of want one, as it is like an eastern block PPK and that Makarov load ain' no slouch.

          As far as Turner's goes.

It is a store. They have employees some good, some bad.

If an employee sucks, tell his boss. If the reply isn't what you like - buy elsewhere.

Seems to be pretty easy math to me ...

I have bought from Turner's in the past. Noproblems whatsoever. There is usually some bozo that works at each one. You need to remember, these are unskilled jobs. You get what you get for minimum wage.

I would just make a stink until I got my deposit back. Though, if you started a DROS, that may not be possible.

          Good rant though, 8/10 !!!

I bought my energy drink and sushi, and moved on, all this drama for $8.63 cents. It made my day though, now people probably look at him strange, or with reasonable suspicion. By the way I find out a few months later he got fired for harassing so many patrons, there goes his batman belt, and future jobs.... Trust me, you'll win in the end, in life, because people like that are pathetic till they die... Just live life, and smile on =). I myself just bought a Doberman yesterday, as my Dumb Question thread went overboard, and the moderator told me to buy a yapper. I got a black/tan pup, and she's going to be near my shower, and yes, I vacuum sealed my Colt if any of you are curious from the other thread...

You should give that a try next time, and I'm not kidding either.. Also all corporate, if your a returning customer that is definitely not right.
That's an interesting way to handle the situation. Call the wrong person a pedophile and you just might wake up on the ground.

From what it sounds like to me, you probably made it seem like you wanted your sister to make something like a straw purchase and you made the manager nervous so they asked you to leave. Turners goes a little overboard on their due diligence at times but that is a CYA policy. There are plenty of othe gunshops around.

                  No kidding! How stupid.

To the OP... why are you ranting here on CG? Call the corporate office and get your money back. Move on. None of us here 1) know you personally, nor 2) do we know Turner's side of the story either.

By you ranting the way you did and asking people here to BLINDLY take up your argument against Turner's, leads me to reasonably suspect that you were more than likely the root of your own problem at Turner's.

Don't patronize them in the future if you're not happy with the lack of service you think you received. Plain and simple.

First of all, missing three out of 30 is not passing with flying colors, missing NONE is passing with flying colors.

Asking for information on how to do an Intra-Familial is considered legal advice, asking someone to help you with INFORMATION is the same thing, and the simple fact that you could not comprehend this would also put me on edge.

And anytime any Turners employee even detects a hint of a straw purchase, all red flags go up. Trying to argue past this point is useless and will only get you tossed out even faster.

Elias is a big guy in general, not tall but he's a bit "fluffy" in the midsection, (nothing but love buddy, haha) He is also one of the quietest guys I know and speaks with a very low tone. If you felt threatened by his posture or demeanor, then it's time to man up and grow some.

Lastly regardless of when you joined and when you posted, you are a new member with hardly any posts and no iTrader score, which makes your argument look kind of weak. And after reading your complaint, maybe you should take your business back to Weenie Hut Junior.

I highly doubt that, I trained for Judo for a few years, and fought a few bouts for for mixed martial arts against veterans, I don't abuse what I learn though, I just did it mostly for fun to kill time and have some fun. Also I'm 6ft, 200lbs, bench about 300, aiming for 400lbs, double my weight...They are most welcome to test me though =). My body is half fracture from surfing semi-pro, so getting knocked out isn't nothing new. I don't run around calling people pedophiles, I just proclaim it when they misjudge me as how they mistreated like the OP. Based on what I read though, it might of look like a 'straw purchase' and that's why he got the boot, my guess..

You are trying to hard, stop. It's painful to watch. The "I trained in (insert whatever), I am 6 foot whatever, and "they are welcome to test me" never ends well. I see shirtless bathroom selfies in your future. Don't be that guy.
