I prefer modern military-style weapons. It's not about being tacticool; it's just about durability and functionality. The only gun with a wood stock I've ever owned was an M-1A. I used to hate it when I got a scratch or nick on the stock. That never bothered me with my AR's. If I wanted finely finished woodwork I'd by grandfather clock. I don't need or want that on my guns.

Old rifles, new pistols, old revolvers. Nothing tacticool unless you count flashlights (not mounted).

I have both old and new guns. I like modern weapons better, but some designs seem like they just can't be improved upon any further, such as the 1911 and AR (the aftermarket already takes care of that many times over). I own classics such as ww2 c&r's, s&w N-frame revolvers, and shotguns such as the 1897, ithacas, and an old unnamed coach gun.

But my favorite firearms currently are Ak pistols, Ak74's, AR15's in 5.45, my TLERL Kimber, and Glocks. And the 10-22 if I can get a hold of some damn 22 ammo.

Not at all. Wearing tactical gear to the range would do it though.

If old fashioned means learning to use your firearms safely and effectively without a blender or cappuccino maker attached to the end of it - then I'm old fashioned.

I like what works. Sometimes that's a blend of "older" designs with modern furniture. Reliability and Ergonomics.

Depends on the gun. If it's an old-school gun, then I leave it as is. If it's newer, then I go tacticool.

I personally have a greater affinity to old fashion. Blued and shiny stainless steel revolvers, 1911 for a semi auto. Lever actions and even want to get into BP

But I am also concerned about utility/performance. I personally am better off with a pistol grip for hunting when not in a stand (iow when moving around) or defense, and there are guns I both shoot better and have greater capacity with than a 1911.

As far as accessories. I bought a scope once. If I get another hunting rifle, maybe a scope and a sling. I might get a Crimson trace on a carry gun. I am thinking of a light for my HD handgun. I have limited use of one hand, so I cannot point and aim a flashlight with one hand, and hold the gun in the other. The last and only time I grabbed by HD gun and went to investigate (in the direction of the phone) I had the flash light in my mouth. Worked but was awkward.
