I'm gonna have to go with practical. I buy things to fit specific needs. Sometimes I can use some old milsurp, sometimes the newer "operator" equipment is the better choice. Call it what you want. I don't care. Ill buy it as long as it's comfortable and fits my needs. That goes for guns and gear.

I'm a little bit country, and I'm a little bit rock 'n roll.

Not an Operator, so I don't place calls.

I am definitely more in touch with the academy of antiquities. I have one AR, and even it is old school, A1 style with handle mounted scope. I've found I like shotguns with 2 barrels a lot, too. Just a matter of style.

Both. I get whatever fits my need, be it personal preference or functionality.

It's not tacticool if you need it because of old eyes.

Luckily there are a whole lot of options other than being old fashioned or tacticool. I'm certainly neither.

I'm old, I like modern guns. My guns are for shooting fun, home defense and self defense and there isn't a single tacticool doodad hanging off any of them.

What works is the coolest. I love my M91 to death, but it's so long and heavy I use it as a dumbbell for weight training. I know I'm a fat, unfit, weak nerd who hasn't done a day of farmwork in his life, unlike the peasants who fought with my Mosin. Tell me to go to war, and I'd have to do it with equations and Matlab programs. Tell me to fight for my life, then I'd rather do it with a 16" AR 15 carbine.

                      Old school. M1, 1911, Mini14, 2 Enfield's, a SxS 12ga, lever actions, lots of revolvers, etc.
