So long as you have a free account with UPS, any true UPS package can be directed to "will-call pickup" at the local UPS facility. This service is no-charge!

UPS Surepost (where they deliver to USPS who does the final delivery) requires an "upgrade" fee to UPS ground in order to enable this option. I use this extensively will all reloading supplies, ammo, gun parts, and any high-price item.

Fed Ex has a similar feature, but you can have only certain items delivered to the local Fed Ex store in my experience.

Same thing with a Mastercard debit card. The only real difference is that there's no line of credit.

Initially they wanted me to drive 45 minutes to the to pickup the package at their distribution center, but eventually agreed to call the driver. He was just down the street and drove back.

I have had much better luck with UPS, and their distribution center is much closer to my house for pickup. Also, the package was beat to hell. Luckily Trijicon packs the ACOG in a sturdy case.

        Good luck OP...
You could throw an ACOG into a brick wall and besides cosmetic damage it'll be fine.

It's like Christmas every day for UPS/FedEx drivers. The vendor did nothing wrong here. I'd be tempted to sue FedEx in small claims court just for the principle. If you're going to sell insurance, you've got to either pay off claims or control your deliveries.

Many (most? all?) UPS/FedEx drivers are not employees, they're independent contractors. I had a long conversation with one waiting at a tire store. Someone just buys or leases a truck, paints it brown, and every morning a warehouse fills it with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Whether they deliver any of it seems to be up to them. There seems to be little or no repercussions if they don't.

All UPS drivers and all Fedex Express drivers are company employees and drive company owned vehicles. Many if not most Fedex Ground and Fedex Home Delivery drivers, as well as On-Trac drivers are contractors and drive and maintain their own vehicles.
I don't know why so many on here think the delivery drivers are stealing their ammo. I'm sure they have many more valuable items on their trucks than your precious ammo. But I'm sure if I look on the computer forum, jewelry forum, watch forum, gold and silver forum, etc its always the delivery driver thats the leading suspect when something's missing.
You should all make a point of getting to know your UPS and Fedex driver, as well as your mailman. Come out of the house and introduce yourself, offer a cold drink, and let him/her put your name with your face. Once you're "friends", he'll be much more likely to recognize your name and address on future packages, and chances of misdeliveries or other mistakes will be less likely. Your driver will also be more likely to provide better service to someone he knows than just another random delivery. All customers deserve top notch service, but it helps if he knows and likes you.

Always pay extra for UPS if u can. Fedex, usps, and all these random small contractors cannot be trusted.

I never ordered ammo that didn't require adult signature 21+. Wouldn't make sense if a 12 year old was able to obtain or sign for ammo.

Lots of reputable online vendors dont require signature.

Never had a problem with USPS, and one time my carrier picked out a package in the sorting area that was being returned because the shipper had made a mistake on the address, just by seeing my name on the address label. My wife thinks I'm having a fling with the carrier so she runs out to get the mail before I do. She's had to bring in a lot of boxes from the recent 4th of July sales.

MY UPS guy is always interested in the gun stuff he delivers so I never have to worry about it. He did ask once if I was running a gun business. I have some ammo scheduled for delivery tomorrow, so we'll chat again.

Fed Ex left two $600 cameras on the front porch that I had purchased as Christmas gifts for my wife and daughter. Found them the next day, and marked on the label? Signature required! I called the company to let them know, and they replied that they can't control what FED EX does.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

^^^ That's why I have a box at the UPS store in AZ. I don't want stuff dropped on my doorstep that can be stolen. They can also sign for stuff for me. At my Cali house, my property is fenced and gated (and semi rural) and they drop the packages over the gate. If it was like my AZ house where someone can just walk up to the door, I would get a box here as well.

I am usually home and have cameras, but I pay for a mailbox in town for this kind of situation.
The only problem I have ever had with that set up is when the delivery driver showed up before the store was open and I had to wait another day.

Such FUD...... Do you ever see an old UPS truck running around.... NEVER... when they are done with the UPS truck they are crushed and documented as such ...
                              They NEVER resell those trucks...
All ups employees are union and not contracted ....

I drive for UPS..... And the last thing I would do is steal from my Co.. My job is worth way more than some ammo I can buy ,,,,, Yes you may get the 1 idiot that does it but it is very very rare for any of us to steal from the Co.. or from our customers.......

Side note .. I can tell when delivering gun parts/ammo... After doing this job so long you get to know the shippers packaging ..... I make sure to hide these packages a little better than the basic amazon package .... But always try to hide any package when I can....

Good luck with your issue..... If it was me I would file claim with the cc co and be done with it

Many franchise stores won't accept ORM like ammo. The hubs will hold it.

When fedex had my hxp i was in my office watching my driveway.

The driver filled out s delivery attempt tag and snuck up on the door.

I opened the door exactly when he tried to place the he nearly shat a brick.
