I learned to wear a mask.

Every single participant was photographed and will be persecuted. .. err prosecuted for whatever trivial violation the .gov can find.

the biggest lesson i learned is many gun owners will side with the rule of law over freedom.

There are lessons still to be learned.

          I think....

The Bundy situation is far from over.

Absolutely! The government cannot let people think we can stand up to them. They are regrouping and coming back with more armed troops, I would look for some military assets on the next round. Opening fire on a crowd with live ammunition is not far from happening. I don't know if it was urban legend or true, but law enforcement officials were reported to tell the crowd to disperse or they would be shot.

Or perhaps they don't want to get into a gun battle with a bunch of civilians.

No matter how much the guy owes in grazing fees, it's really not worth the possible loss of life.

Fact is, BLM has been permitting grazing (with fees) for over 80 years. If you're in the ranching business, it's nothing new. He should have been prepared to pay the fees or otherwise not grazed his cattle there. We can be morally or philosophically opposed to all kinds of laws or how certain agencies govern or conduct themselves, but it doesn't change the real world consequences to not knowing or disobeying the law.

I never said anything about agreeing or disagreeing with the sentiment of either side of the situation, simply gave my support to a post I took to demonstrate the reality that if one does not want to be hassled, they ought to make sure they abide by the rules. If they are willing to engage in protracted legal battle over a philosophical issue, then more power to them.

It's probably not about the endangered turtles, after all the wild horse population is seemingly out of control and not being managed effectively by BLM. So what about the damage that the increased wild horse population is doing to the environment that the BLM is supposed to "manage"? So the grazing "damage" angle is bogus.

Can't really be the money either as Al Sharpton owes the IRS >$3 million and the Feds aren't knocking on his doors with guns drawn demanding property to pay his bills.

But, don't want to pick on Al as some would go to the race card, so let's move over to Warren Buffett. WB has owed the IRS over $1 billion (billion, not million) for over 10 YEARS and has the argument all tied up with lawyers and the IRS.

So Al is 3x Cliven and WB is 1,000x Clilven....yet the Feds see fit to spend millions on planes, light/heavy vehicles, round-up operations, armed representatives and all for some cows to pay a fee....hmmmm. Doesn't add up to me.

I like the Harry angle better about using public land for the solar power farm with the Chinese to pay bills...or line someone's pockets.

Call it tin hat, but when you peel the onion some interesting things just don't add up.
These are all excellent points. It has nothing to do with 2a, or refusing to pay grazing fees, This is fundamentally about states rights.

This is about an over reaching federal government, BLM, IRS, EPA, FDA on and on.

The Turtle excuse had holes all in it from the beginning.

What scares me is a uniformed policing agency will enforce "with force if necessary" any order from higher ups on fellow Americans.

                For Grazing Fees?...

They will spend over 1 million to get less than a million in back taxes and possibly take lives in the process?

I think Harry has more to do with this than is being reported.

BLM established 1946. 68 years ago.

Bundy family's rights established originally by the desert land act of 1877.Their rights predate any agreement made with BLM. But this has all been discussed in another thread. No need to rehash this here.

I learned that who ever was in charge showed remarkable restraint and enviable good judgement in backing law enforcement off what could have been a tragic situation.

I learned that some civilians with guns are prepared to kill fellow Americans, for a complete bat **** crazy case like this.

So the flag represents the government shooting your cattle? Kicking old ladies to the ground, and pushing pregnant ladies?

Were not BLM placing snipers before any civilians with weapons were on the scene?
