I'm confused, if the magnet was inserted into the mag release, why was he saying "Something fell off your rifle"? Was he trying to say something fell off your rifle and he put it back for you?

And if he was trying to entrap you, why didn't he just put the magnet on your mag release and bust you for it if that's what he was going for?

I'm not calling B.S., but this is really weird. Hope you got his info in case he's done this before or is planning to do it again.

Agreed, which is why I don't necessarily believe OP's story.

If they wanted to bust people with bullet button magnets they would just go down to the range on a Saturday and take their pick from one of the half dozen or more people there that are using them openly.
