I adhere to the "10 24-hour periods" law and will not release a firearm a miniute sooner. Why? Because it could cost me my license. I am also closed Sundays and Mondays and sometimes the 10th day falls on one of those closed days. The customer is informed of his pick-up date at time of purchase. If it turns out to be 10, 11, or even 12 days, I let them know up front. Doing any less is poor customer service.sigpicNRA Life Member

Well if it is getting old, Stop breathing it, it must not be getting to old, your still reading and responding to it.
Like sorensen440 said, this is not a diss on the employees, they are only doing what they are instucted to do.
But some managements seem to want to help the Libs out and Tack on more of a waiting period.
And I do go elsewhere.Failure is not an OptionComment

This has been covered so many times.
Venting to vent is OK but take it to where it will matter, tell them(management) you're not buying from them because of the 11 day wait.
The FFL I deal with is to the second of the 10th day, he gets all my business.sigpic
Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.Comment

Find a code section that makes it illegal, and I'll raise hell with every FFL that does it. Until then, it doesn't really matter to me...Last edited by HowardW56; 08-11-2008, 12:34 PM.sigpicComment

Kinda funny, when I started this thread I wasn't even venting, I was just asking a question on the legality of the extra day tacked on to the wait period.
But instead of just trying to answer my question, I got guys with their panties in a bunch wanting to flame me for asking the question, just like the store employees did.Failure is not an OptionComment

So What
Just go in on the 11th day and get your gun! Or just complain and dont give your business to a gun store that way more and more of them will shut down in california. Then go to a restraunt and yell at a waitress for not getting seated in a prompt manner or having hot enough coffee. Just a suggestion. I'm almost postive that they are just trying to keep in the clear from the DOJ taking their license away, so be a team player.Ya seen much combat?Comment

If the tards behind the counter can't count to ten as mentioned, there is a problem. It's not that hard a concept, 10 24hr periods..22short .22lr .22mag .25acp .32acp .32H&Rmag,.35rem .30carbine

Sounds like there are alot of wanna be Gun shop managers out there. Its easy to sit back and criticize others and how they do that job. Im almost positive that that store isnt there just for you but for thousands of others in what ever city your from. Its just 11 days. If you can wait 10 you can wait 11. Let the gun stores keep their paperwork in order, that way they will be open next week and not another business closed buy the DOJ. Don't yell at the bus driver because he has to drive the speed limit.Ya seen much combat?Comment

.. yet I work at The Sports Authority which also has an 11 day waiting period. It is a policy set by corporate, neither management nor employees have any say or altering of this policy. I don't believe it is an issue that needs addressing or harassing directed at the employees. If it's that big of a problem I would suggest for the customer to simply shop elsewhere. To this day I have never received a complaint about the 11 day waiting period. The paperwork we hand out also clearly states the date and time when pickup is allowed and we tell everyone about the 11 day wait. I've never received a clear answer from corporate about the 11 day wait, but I would speculate that they are simply being cautious to prevent a firearm from being released to early. it only takes the release of one to really put an FFL in a world of hurt.
