I'm waiting one extra day for my newest toy. It's annoying but the FFL was upfront about it. I won't do another PPT there if I can avoid it due to the extra day and other reasons.

I suppose adding an extra day to cover their posterior is easier than hiring competent employees that have a full set of fingers or can manage to perform simple counting at the level of a 5 year old.

I don't get it...I know that some might be perturbed to wait an extra day, and as long as they are up front about it then what's the complaint? I wouldn't want to bust the chops of the gun shop / ffl....he's a businessman with severe cosequences if they do not follow the law as written. It's a bookkeeping nightmare to make sure that the firearm is released exactly 240 hours from the time that the dros was entered and registered with the state.

I do not mind the extra day wait. I want to help keep as many local gunshops / ffl dealers around. If they need to tag on an extra day to the dros to make sure that they comply with the over-burdened laws that govern their business then I'm OK with it.

Ive only had to deal with that myself at big 5
I wouldn't do business with a shop that added a day to the already unreasonable wait this state has imposed on us

Oh yes, I remember. The governor at the time was trying to push it to 20 days citing that the 15 was the minimum and 20 was max to do the check. No wait on long guns many moons ago as well.

I started such a thread recently and was flamed as usual. I won't not shop at a gunshop solely for 11 day waits but it is a negative factor that may cause me to be more likely to shop, elsewhere.

FWIW Turners used to do the 11 day pick up thing. They no longer do. An employee told me DOJ told them to stop doing so.

Seems alot of you sure are willing to put up with anything anyone wants to impose, legal or not.
The 10 day wait is unjust to begin with, most states have instant check.
If the guy behind the counter can't count to 10 he needs a new job.

I'm fully capable of doing math and even geometry .. yet I work at The Sports Authority which also has an 11 day waiting period. It is a policy set by corporate, neither management nor employees have any say or altering of this policy. I don't believe it is an issue that needs addressing or harassing directed at the employees. If it's that big of a problem I would suggest for the customer to simply shop elsewhere. To this day I have never received a complaint about the 11 day waiting period. The paperwork we hand out also clearly states the date and time when pickup is allowed and we tell everyone about the 11 day wait. I've never received a clear answer from corporate about the 11 day wait, but I would speculate that they are simply being cautious to prevent a firearm from being released to early. it only takes the release of one to really put an FFL in a world of hurt.

Big 5 made me wait 19 days before, which is 8 days more than their normal 11 day waiting period. Turns out they forgot to send the DROS. IMO they make you wait 11 days because they are getting their money and don't give a damn if they impose on you, they probably don't want to run the chance of letting it go before 10 24 hour periods. Like you would even get in trouble for letting it go 1 min early. If the dealer wants to make you wait more than the legally required waiting period for no reason whatsoever they are not worth supporting because they are anti.

It happened to me at a store once (won't name which one). I went back to pickup and had to wait 10 more days because they didn't send it off. The guy gave me a whole bunch of ammo and cleaning supplies for free though so he got my business again.

What? My elite addition and subtraction skills? 11+8=37, so 37-11=8 and 8-37=11. Right?

Your mouth wash is getting old. It is not a question of not being able to count to ten. They want eleven days. Let it go at that or go elsewhere.
