I might be in the minority, but I do not think that this is the way to win the "Hearts and Minds" of US citizens. It would have probably been better to simply comply with the police requests, and have the neighbors see them shaking hands as they left. That would give the correct impression that there was no problem with the man's actions. It could have been a teaching moment, instead of a confrontation.

    Flame away.

I dont think you are wrong. Some people seem to think the best way to win over public opinion is to annoy the public as much as possible. Those people are not correct.

Blah Blah its not public opinion its a right blah blah last time I checked, our elected leaders who pass the laws are effectively the winners of a popularity contest and they are SUPPOSED to represent the public opinion of their constituents. While I believe 100% that its our right, it would be much easier to exercise our rights if we had more support of the public opinion. Doing things that accomplish absolutely nothing while annoying people pointlessly are not helpful in the public opinion battle

I thought city property was from the sidewalk all the way to the curb, even though homeowners care for that strip of dirt between

Ditto, FWIW. Acts like these do not enhance our 2A rights IMO.

no reason to weaken your position with petty name calling.

All in all it was poorly handled by all parties.

                This ^^^

Yes there are rights that are supposed to be upheld regardless of your attitude or non-illegal behavior, but on the street you're dealing with people not a copy of the Constitution. People react predictably to certain behaviors not necessarily written in by the founders. Also, pissing off random citizens is not how we improve our situation.

wonder if their lack of training is what caused that sash on the fat bulldogs badge. Nothing but a pissing contest and the one who had the power of backup won.

This on the other hand was an awesome contact!

                    Poor muzzle discipline

Watched the video and understand why people would call the cops. Even though he is on "his property" The guys is violating basic firearms handling rules. He has the rifle strapped across his body and IS aware or unaware of the direction the rifle is pointing out in PUBLIC view. In my view that is wrong and poor muzzle discipline.

The guy is an attention whore and could of have a much better way to exercise his 1st & 2nd amendments and not have his firearms confiscated.

I think the LEO was nice. Wouldn't all he had to done is say you fit the description of ____ _____ criminal at large we're going to have to detain you until we can prove who you are, or you can?
