    Kilts and holsters...

So I have kind of had an inkling as of late for getting a kilt. Not just any kilt, but a Utilikilt. So I have a couple questions regarding kilts and maybe the diverse nature of the Calguns community can shed some light on them.

    1) Can I conceal a handgun IWB with a kilt, in the event that I ever actually get a CCW permit for any state, including this one?

    2) Can I open carry a handgun (OWB) wearing a kilt without either looking weird and actually having the holster work correctly? My holsters are leather pancake designs so they require some belt tension and ride high, so I need to see if the kilt will ride high enough with it for the holsters to work.

    3) Do any of you guys have Utilikilts (besides my brother, handle of elsensei)? If so, what do you think of them?

I want the Survivor model... more mula, BUT I like the removable pockets and whatnot and with those buttons in place, I can make other accessories with my leather tools (other pouches, etc)

Just curious... select your answer on the poll to help me decide!

So you want to wear a dress and you're wondering if your holster will look funny?

I dunno, but it might make your *** look big.

      1) You can unless a gust of wind blows it up thus exposing your "gun".

      2) You can open carry with it and yes you will look funny. Best get a set of suspenders (rainbow color) to finish off the look.

      3) You've got to be joking right?....

OMG!, what has happened to you, first it is colarge's and now a "kilt". If you show up with blush on your man card is done!

Here's my counter question. Will you be wearing the kilt traditional style?

                  That's a kilt...

                  These are not...

You have to read that link I put in my 1st reply - it's funny...

That's right, some dorks from Washington are trying to profit off the age old Scottish trend of kilts. Living relatively near their headquarters in Seattle, I've come to realize that this new trend is no joke. The Utilikilt fad is growing faster than you may realize and if you see a man wearing a skirt in the near future, don't be surprised.

In 2000, a group of artists set out on tour to change the world with their music, dancing, movies, and acting. Once they started, the team found out that they were no good at any of these art forms and decided to market a new kind of clothing garment instead - the Utilikilt.

Yes sir sorry sir! Nothing wrong sir.
And even if you were not who you are I'd say the same thing. But Pullnshoot is ......... changing?
I have watched men in Kilts toss 10 foot poles and there is nothing wrong with that.
I grew up in a Scottish area of Boston and can understand it but, well it is not for me to judge I guess.

As uclaplinker pointed out, there is a big difference between a true kilt and a 'utilikilt'.
One is traditional manly garment, the other is a glorified skirt.
I gotta say, if you want a kilt buy the wool and learn how to pleat and wear it.
Then you will see how skirt-like the utilikilts are.

Everyone changes over their life, this one just seems... odder then most....
I just don't know if I want to see the end result of the 'changing'...

Not to change subjects, but some women do look hot in mens clothes, but if it is not a kilt I don't think men will look "right" in a utilikilt.

The traditional kilts are cool, but I don't want tartan or any of the traditional fabrics. I want something that I can actually wear outside of practicing the Highland games (I am not even Scottish, I am 1/2 Ukrainian and 1/2 Italian... perogies and pasta!) or some funeral.

They are not girly in the least either. They did not descend from a skirt but from a sash.

The question of concealability was not about UTH (under the hem) but about IWB. That said, can kilts be worn without the shirt tucked in?

                          Just curious.

BTW, that digital camo kilt is WICKED sick.

ETA: Nothing wrong with mosaics! They are actually fun to do. If any of you guys want one before the trial runs out on this program, let me know and I will generate it for you. God knows I have enough time since I have no one else to spend my time with...
