Nice range, the RO helps gather my spent brass as he knows I'm a reloader, but it gets crowded and is too far for me to drive to.

Brought my "active duty" son in there last Saturday. We had a great experience. The RSO was first class all the way. Looking forward to taking the wife there soon.Lead, Follow or get the Hell out of the way!

So do you guys think they see a female and already have this thought they don't know how to shoot? LOLComment

I gave it some thought last night and recalled they acted pretty condescending when I went in there the first time with my partner, who often can be found doing this:
, this:
, this:
, and this:
.
So, yeah, I think maybe they overreact a little when they see a woman checking in. They probably ought to calm down a little with that.
But as I said before, aside from that attitude (maybe because of it?), they provide a very comfortable and inviting place for women to shoot, and all my female shooting companions love Field Time (these days most of my shooting companions are women).Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

Also great how they automatically assume all females want pink hearing proComment

Not sure if this is true, but I've heard quite a few people say that males more likely than not, have a better shot than females. I have no idea but I've heard that statement a few times from various groups.Comment

Yea I was going to say I've seen WAY more giddy jacka**es go hog wild or shoot the floor/roof with guns than I have females. Because most guys have to look cool and DGAF about safety just looking cool and having an awesome time with the bros, where girls are usually scared and take it slow and easy until they get the hang of it and realize it's not going to face slap them or blow their hand off like youtube portrays.Comment

A lot of gun guys are compensating for their perceived lack of masculinity, no surprise they gravitate to working with firearms and assume positions of petty authority and act out. I'm sure they'll continue to do well with those that are like minded, no shortage in the land of the ultimate boob, Reagn.
Would have loved a video on youtube of that *** telling a deputy sheriff she can't control a .45.
Live in shame Field Time.Comment

Wow... Field Time is just down the block from me, and so far I have had nothing but great experiences there. I was there twice this week as a matter of fact.
Most of the time the RO's sweep my brass. I don't know his name, but an older RO likes to chat and is always helpful.
My wife hasn't shot in a long time due to illness, but if that day ever comes again, it will be interesting to see what she says when they tell her she can't handle a shotgun.
She has 2 of her own, and a .357 that she handles quite well. Shoots my 1911's when I'm feeling generous.

In general (massive hand-waving here), women are more likely to follow instructions than men, who already know it all.Yea I was going to say I've seen WAY more giddy jacka**es go hog wild or shoot the floor/roof with guns than I have females. I feel your pain. I most likely won't come back if they treated my female companion like that.
For shooting pistols, Orange County Sheriff's pistol range (25 yards), across street from Honda Center, maybe better than Field Time. The ROs there are really cool, do not check your weapon unless its your first time for safety briefing, and do not care who is with you. And it is a semi-outdoor range, which has natural light for better aiming. Only inconvenience is they open to public Weds - Sat., from 8AM - 5PMComment

I've never had an issue shooting by myself. Just the first times I took my girlfriend and later when I brought her little sister for the first time.Wow... I think the RO you're talking about is Doug. He really likes to chat.... like a lot. He's knowledgeable, but also very opinionated.Comment
