have had a great experience there. My wife and I have been there 3-4 times. Always great, nice people, take safety seriously.

This is now our favorite range and we drive past many others to get there

I have not had a bad experience there in the year or so my son and ihave been going. We follow the rules and practice safe gun handling and have never had an issue with the RSOs.

I was there when someone came in with a loaded AR-15. We had just finished checking in our guns, next guy came up and he told the clerk his rifle was clear. They pull the bolt back and out pops out a round. Sent him home right away, they did say he could come back tomorrow. I think they acted accordingly.

never been there with a first timer, but always had good interactions with the counter staff and ROs there, the older gentleman RO there is extremely nice and helpful even with new shooters I've seen

One thing I have noticed is there are a LOT more women at that range than at other ranges in the area. I don't think that's accidental. Female shooters I have spoken to tell me Field Time is an unusually welcoming and comfortable place for them to shoot. I suspect the hand-holding the RSO does at Field Time is more acceptable for a lot of female shooters than it is for more macho male shooters. Personally, I'm cool with it. I'm probably more safety-conscious than most anyway, and you're never too old or experienced to learn something new.
You're absolutely correct Mitch. Only thing is they're always with dudes and I'm married!

Had the same thing happen to me.

They wouldn't let my female friend shoot because "she would shoot herself" because she couldn't control a "forty five" with my 1911 she wanted to try out (she was considering one for work). Not even asking her if she has ever had any firearms experience.

Then she pulled out her badge and showed her carry gun in her purse (Kimber Ultra .45ACP). She rebuked the employee's comments to his face in front of other customers.

We exchanged a few words and left.

                    Won't go there again.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

How did she get to carry? Is she an undercover brother?

I'd never go back if that happened to me. No wonder I do almost all my shooting on blm land.

Overall, its a nice range, but I know what you mean.... I've taken my girlfriend there along with her younger sister. Fortunately, I brought 22s for them to shoot so I wasn't forced to rent and buy their ammo.

Before going in, I went over the basics and all the safety rules. I told them when we check in, when they ask, just say that they've shot before, just not at this location.

I understand that safety is paramount, but come on... I've seen them force people to rent the 22s before they could even move up to anything larger. Probably good for business, but it sure is annoying.

As for the ROs there... most are cool, but a few of them need to quit hovering around my lane, especially if someone else wants to come up and shoot the sh*t with them. I understand if I'm doing something unsafe, but I don't, when I'm there to shoot and not socialize, leave me alone.
